Peak VH1 prices
I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm interested in peak VH1 (pre-Unity) prices.
Suspect the peak was between June - December 1993.
(somewhere between the aftermath of Turok 1's release in Apr. and the release of Harbinger # 25 in Nov.).
My vague recollection from that time was:
Harbinger 1 - $125
Magnus 12 - $100
Rai 3+4 - $65 each
But I'd love to see a full list of pre-Unity keys at their peak market prices.
Magnus 0?
Shadowman 1?
Solar 1? 10?
The most I got burned was late summer (August 1993) when I paid $25 for an X-O # 3.
So maybe that month was the peak?
Let's see a full list...

Re: Peak VH1 prices
I agree with your prices, but seem to remember them from sligtly later, like '94 or even '95. Maybe I just fell for dealers still holding on to high prices.

PS, for a laugh I looked up Harbinger 1 in "The Offical Comic Book Price Guide for Great Britain 1992/1993 Edition". It's listad at £3.

Re: Peak VH1 prices
I'm not sure how you can call those peak prices when there are http://www.valiantpriceguide.com/issue/show/h1 tracked raw sales higher than that, pre-pandemic. That's to say nothing of graded sales, even now.
Re: Peak VH1 prices
Simple - 30 years of inflation.
$125 for a raw 9.4 Harbinger # 1 in 1993-1994 is worth more than $202 for a raw 9.4 in 2019.
Also - eBay grade inflation. Note that raw grade were "based on item description" -- and that the raw 9.4 prices nearly always outstripped the CGC prices for the same grade (for example: in 2019 raw "9.4"s sold for an average of $202 whereas slabbed (true) 9.4s sold for an average of just $168).
Yes - grade inflation existed in 1993-1994 as well, but the books were more likely to be true NM/M then since they were less than 2 years old -- and the advent of CGC since now highly incentivizes sellers to slab true 9.4s or better.
