The Bagh Nakh
"Everything in the universe is energy, it's all in how you move it".
That was the main point of VH 1 Solar.
The Bagh Nakh was reportedly a magical artifact that absorbed people's souls.
According to The Second Life of Doctor Mirage, a soul is nothing more and nothing less than a form of necromantic energy.
If Grandmother, a free will robot from the 40th Century, could INFUSE humans such as Rais with her energy, there is no reason why the Bagh Nakh could not similarly be a device from the future that can EXTRACT energy the necromantic humans that makes up a human's soul.
The Bagh Nakh may not necessarily be magical. It can certainly be a form of advanced future technology that, somehow (i.e., Ivar), made its way into the past.

Re: The Bagh Nakh
Perfect example of when VH1 lost its way. Couldn't figure out if it wanted to cripple its stories with overly slavish adherence to its rules or tell the best story and break the rules. Happens to every universe early. Valiant picked poorly imo. Stories like 30 coins that you mention in the other thread are trash.ManofTheAtom wrote: Tue Oct 03, 2023 6:42 am "Everything in the universe is energy, it's all in how you move it".

I agree that VH1 lost its way early in post-Unity, trying to follow what Shooter had done but not having the attention to detail or writing and editing talent to pull it off. One has to ignore things and add in a lot of details for the entirety of VH1 to logically make any sense as a whole. Same could be said for VEI though.syzhang28 wrote: Tue Oct 03, 2023 10:51 amPerfect example of when VH1 lost its way. "Everything in the universe is energy, it's all in how you move it".
Phil Sileski was an educated man who had access to powers and energy that elude our grasp.
He was here sharing an insight he had made after some individual experimentation, not offering a thesis for peer review. He had not challenged this statement scientifically, searching for exceptions or things that did not follow this non-rule.
Sometimes smart, educated men exaggerate, especially when they are boasting about their area of specialty. How many times has a specialist said "we know practically nothing about [insert specialty here]!" where their specialty is like the ocean floor or the moon or something like that.
Was Solar describing a law of physics or was he marvelling at his new abilities, whose horizons he had not had the opportunity to test nor its limits to challenge?

The first part of his statement is him partly quoting Eistein.Chiclo wrote: Mon Oct 16, 2023 7:26 am "Everything in the universe is energy, it's all in how you move it".

"Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."
According to Jack Boniface, magic is just jazz, it's all in how you play it. That's an awesome quote.

Re: The Bagh Nakh
What if the Bagh-Nakh is a Rai weapon that got lost in time because of Ivar's recklessness the same way he displaced all those people Solar sent to their proper eras in Archer & Armstrong?
Are not the properties of the Bagh-Nakh similar (if not downright the same) as Rai's sword that hurt Mothergod in Unity?

Re: The Bagh Nakh
I do not remember the Rai's sword taking the soul of Mothergod?
Besides, Rai's sword is from the future and probably works on microcircuitry and the Bagh Nakh is an artefact of the ancient past that is powered by magic. Perhaps even powered by the very souls it steals?
Did the Bagh Nakh do anything other than steal souls and be a dagger? I haven't read that story in over 10 years.

Re: The Bagh Nakh
In Archer & Armstrong we saw a free will robot from the 41st Century. It is entirely plausible for a Rai weapon to have been similarly lost further in the past and found by the Geomancers.Chiclo wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 1:45 pm I do not remember the Rai's sword taking the soul of Mothergod?

As for it taking souls, souls ARE necromantic energy. Doctor Mirage was a being made up of it, and he was constantly at risk of dissipating and the like.
That is all the dagger did.

Re: The Bagh Nakh
To put it in perspective, Doctor Mirage is a being of necromantic energy the same way Mothergod is a being of nuclear energy (or whatever she was made of).
Just like she was susceptible to Rai's energy weapons, there is no reason to believe the same is not true of Hwen.
Hwen represents what a soul is in the VALIANT Universe. That is all he is.

Re: The Bagh Nakh
Good to see you guys are still having fun. I've been away awhile, and popped in curious to see what everyone thought of RESURGENCE.
I had first heard of the Eternal Warrior RESURGENCE one-shot so I am going to give that a try. I wasn't aware of the RESURGENCE 1to4 until today.

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

ManOTA...do you have anyone saying much about the ETERNAL WARRIOR one or is it too early for that?ManofTheAtom wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:37 amI created a thread to discuss it here.Oxmyx wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:28 am Good to see you guys are still having fun.
