Yay positivity! Just got my Harbinger Files #1 for 30 cents
I didn't hardly expect to ever see one in a discount bin, because it was essentially a one-shot, right?
I mean, there was a #2, but I don't consider the two issues an actual continuation. I mean, I haven't read it yet, I'm making assumptions. Are they correct?
It was no real steal for 30 cents. The condition is nothing special.
Also picked up TANKERS #2. I wasn't expecting to see a Bad Idea in there, but wasn't exactly expecting not to. They had #2 and #3, but no #1. If they had had the #1 I would have gotten the run.
Also picked up an old Nexus and an old Badger that I don't *think* I have.
But back to Valiant. I saw two FCBD books by VEI Valiant that came out before I collected Valiant. So got those now, and for only 30 cents, why not?

I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

I thought both issues of Harbinger Files were good. The first one was better than the second, though.

Do you recall if the stories were connected? It seems to me The Harbinger character is a clear indication of latter-day VH1, and probably the original wasn't meant to have a #2ManofTheAtom wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 10:03 pm I thought both issues of Harbinger Files were good. Their only connection is that they tell stories about the Harbinger Foundation. In terms of plot, not really.Oxmyx wrote: Mon Sep 04, 2023 6:54 amDo you recall if the stories were connected? This is a guess
From what I recall, they're essentially meant to tell stories between the panels of other comics. For instance, issue one follows from the third issue of Solar, which ended with Harada's plane crashing.
"This issue is continued from Toyo Harada's first appearance in Solar, Man of the Atom #3 (November 1991)."

Likewise, issue two follows up from Harbinger #25 and #37, and is connected to The Visitor series.
"The issue was published after Harbinger #37 and deals with the aftermath of the "Chaos Effect" event."

Thus HF #2 is definitely not continued from HF #1 or, in other words, has nothing to do with it other than being another Harbinger story.

Tankers #2 on the other hand, follows Tankers #1 and continues in Tankers #3.
It's a fun read..... but also absolutely pointless.
I still believe Robert Venditti's promo video is the best part of Tankers.
