Conceptual Funnies #1 - CGC
Anybody here land one of the five available? Wasn’t in my budget but hope some of you were able to spare the coin for one.

- Especially "dude." And "balls." Those terms work in the tech industry.

I made an offer below the threshold amount and got a pretty funny reply and had a good back and forth with Bad Idea thereafter. It’s cool how interactive they are with the fans.
Good luck on getting one of them. I’d think a 10.0 or .5 would be the most fun to have.

These are the blank CGC slabs? I don't get it.

I think it’s a translucent piece or two of acetate/plastic, folded and stapled, representing the comic book equivalent of John Cage’s 4:33 musical performance. I think anyway.magnus20009 wrote:These are the blank CGC slabs? I don't get it.
I was drunk and submitted a bid above the threshold, but didn’t win (thankfully!). I did receive a follow up email that I could purchase some other unknown object for $500, but I passed on that opportunity.

Even if it has a couple pieces of acetate in it (first I've heard), it's nonsense like this that has people really short on patience with Bad Idea.

In defense of Bad Idea, I've enjoyed most everything they've published and you have to assume these sorts of shenanigans are partly (if not mostly) for headlines. Sure, there's some commentary on the state of the medium and the fan culture that would pay 5 figures for encased piece of clear plastic.
Maybe that commentary is worth the 5 figures? Arguably, the slabbed, stapled acetate has as much story value as your slabbed Hulk 181. Ok, Hulk 181 has a cool cover, but you can always put your Conceptual Funnies on top of any comic and effectively it becomes that comic.
I don't know. It's funny to me. Also somewhat conceptual.
