X-O manowar original art for sale Quesada/Palmiotti

For Sale Iconic company branding image of X-O manowar from 1993. This is the sister image of the X-O manowar 0 cover. This image was printed in the X-O manowar source book, as business cards for Valiant executives, as an advertising Flat, company letterhead, inside page of Valiant Reader 1, secrets of the Valiant Universe, and on Valiant Convention Banners in the 1993.

My holy grail #1 probably, but unfortunately even in best times I could not justify this to the wife, and right now, with 3 months worth of business bills stacked up that I will have to come up with, it's not even a joke I am willing to bring up to her.

I'd love to know when you got this too! I asked Jimmy 20 years ago if he had any X-O #0 art, he said "no, it's been gone a long time". And had a long session with Quesada in 2016 and literally the first question I asked was "do you have the X-O #0 art?" He said it'd been gone so long he couldn't even remember the genesis of the sale(s). I've often thought one person bought the whole issue and that's why no pages even appear.

The Quesada/Palmiotti Ninjak art is more or less all out there to be found. The Quesada Solar covers (I have one of them!) are also out there. But the X-O art...no

Did you consider using an auction house? I know they take a percentage but on a piece like this you might get a bidding war. The Bloodshot cover that sold on Heritage a few months ago went for quite a strong price (or at least I thought so)

So gentleman as far as the auction route, thought I would post here first. This was purchased last century 1999 NYC Con. From a well known art dealer.

honestly, besides an auction house I don't see it selling anywhere else. And I don't know if it will pull 12k there. XO is not a big pull (take it from someone who's got more xo art than most) outside of this website and facebook group. I know to us it's a historic piece but to the rest of the art world it's JOE Q on a property that is not worth investing the big bucks. That's why those BWS unity covers sat for YEARS until Dinesh finally got them. It had to be someone like that. I will let him know but not sure if he thinks it's worth the $$$.

I could see the original cover art for 0 possibly cresting the $10K mark. The cover art for issue 1 sold at auction for $8300 and issue 2 for $7100.

The only promo piece I bought was the original art for Rai and the Futire Force. It was used in numerous places and is a favorite of mine.

I have all but one of the interior pages for X-O 1/2 deep in storage. I look forward to perusing those again.

Was thinking the same - the auction route will get more eyes on it! Quesada's art sells - no doubt - but Valiant art never commands the prices that other properties do. Sad but true.
