Defiant suggestions?
I finally got myself a copy of The Birth of the Defiant Universe, and now I fear I'm hooked. Does anyone have any suggestions for some good Defiant books to track down?
Re: Defiant suggestions?
The basic Defiant back issues are still cheap, so you’re in luck in that regard. Warriors of Plasm was pretty much the flagship title. Some like Dark Dominion better. Maybe get the first issues of those two titles and see what you think.
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

I like em all. Warriors of Plasm and Dark Dominion are probably the best.

it's been a long time since I read them, but with these books, I think you need to read them all to get an overview of the Defiant Universe. Don't let Warriors of Plasm throw you, it's the main title of the Defiant Universe, but some find the whole "Gore for the Org" thing kind of weird. Great Lapham artwork, though.

Re: Defiant suggestions?
Warriors of Plasm was my favorite as a kid with Dark Dominion a close second. However, I also love the Good Guys and even submitted my own powers in hopes I would get picked to be part of the book. I think I just wanted to be a Pete Stanchek knock off but I don't really remember.
At the time, I felt like they were building a really great shared universe like those early Valiant books and it was a shame when it all fell apart.

Re: Defiant suggestions?
My favorite was Warriors of Plasm followed closely by Dark Dominion. I suggest hunting down all the regular issues though. They are easily available for 25-50 cents each. Then, if u really like them, there are a few pricier issues such as the zero issues. Defiant’s only really tough book to acquire is Birth of the Defiant Universe. But, that issue isn’t at all necessary to enjoy the Defiant Universe.

Re: Defiant suggestions?
Defiant like the early Valiant is much better when read in order of publication. The universe as a whole is stronger than the sum of its parts.
