I think it is an image teasing new ongoing series for Harbinger, Archer & Armstrong and Rai. Anyway, I hope that's what it is.

I see a girl with an eyepatch, Lulu Lee (?), a Spider Alien, and a Japanese style Oni in the background. Either Rai, or a character related to Rai. They mentioned a while back that eventually they were going to publish a new volume.
Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
Definitely RAI related.

Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
Big Plans but within context of publishing 5 books per month...means more mini's and cancellation of on-going series.
Now, if these 'big plans' included a regular stable of ongoing titles mixed with a couple of mini's each month i'd be down for that.
Rai
Unity (team book)
Harbinger
Archer and Armstrong
Timewalker (Ivar and/or Neela)
should all be ongoing series in addition to Bloodshot, XO etc.
There is so much potential with these characters which is hard to realize given the limitations on volume imo. as a consumer, I want to see more Valiant on the shelf at my local LCS

I'm hoping that the new management team is just pulling back for a while to get their feet under themselves and has plans to get back to (at least) eight books a month.

Infinite potential with any given character to realise, so let's up the # books on the shelves/month to at least ten. AT LEAST.
I want (the following as) pillar books and revolving ongoings:
XO Manowar
Shadowman
Harbinger
Bloodshot

Agree with the pillars. I def think that EW and Ninjak ongoing/mini's/consistent features in monthly titles should be included in that list also.Shadowman99 wrote:+1 to both points.jmatt wrote:+1Bl00dsh0t wrote:There is so much potential with these characters which is hard to realize given the limitations on volume imo. as a consumer, I want to see more Valiant on the shelf at my local LCS

I love the concept behind H.A.R.D. Corps, it would be really cool to have a monthly Harby book and a monthly H.A.R.D. Corps book playing off one another to a certain extent.

Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
This said - I do like the thought process behind mini's such as Incursion (Tama and EW should be more heavily represented in the Valiant U imo) and The Forgotten Queen (War Monger is another cool character with potential and it's great to see the creative team go back to a character who has had 1 story arc in Unit, rather than write a whole new character - makes the broader universe feel more connected imo).Bl00dsh0t wrote:Agree with the pillars. Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
Let’s remember all of the points they’ve already made. They stated Back in September (Rose City Comic Con) that Rai will be coming in May, this seems like the perfect time (6 months out) to let a few images slip. To me, this is Rai. I’d be shocked if it was anything else.
They also said 6 books per month, and a new #1 each month. I don’t think that might be quite as possible, but we shall see. Still, 6 books are 6 books, and with the only ongoing book heading into 2019 being X-O, there are bound to be other ongoings. Rai should be one, Ninjak should be another. Could we see a different #1? Maybe, we shall see

Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
Both RAI and NINJAK seem to have something in the works and HARBINGER will get a new proxy after FAITH with Harada's book. I think ARCHER & ARMSTRONG and some sort of all-star no-regular-title UNITY (ft the likes of Eternal Warrior, Doctor Mirage, Timewalker, Shadowman, Geomancer, Quantum - maybe without Woody, etc) are the most sorely needed ones.
As the line lacks strong villains, I'll add that I would also like to see G.A.T.E.'s recently coopted ARMORINES and HARD CORPS, under the new OMEN management, playing their updated roles as internationally avowed military policemen and corporate death squad going rogue(r) put to use as serious opponents for our heroes.

Rai was the best book that Valiant has put out since the relaunch 6 or so years ago, IMO. I'd buy more Rai.

To me, Rai was the most cinematic book Valiant has ever produced. To me it was like Blade Runner. I was 8 when I first saw that movie, and it has held a special magic in my mind. Some of the best indie comics I’ve read have that same magic. Rai has it in spades.

Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
My vote for best book since 2012 is easily XO. Think both series have been consistently amazing to dateIMJ wrote:Rai was the best book that Valiant has put out since the relaunch 6 or so years ago, IMO. I'd buy more Rai.

I like that idea someone had about a rolling monthly face-off between Harbinger and HARD Corps, that's a cool idea and would work really well I'm sure. Maybe we could mix things up by chucking Bloodshot back in there on occasion too, that worked well enough before back in Harbinger Wars.
I really think that the VU would benefit from a small number of titles (XO, Harbinger, Bloodshot, Shadowman) forming a cohesive unit for other mini series to revolve around, expanding the context of the main titles and adding additional colour where they're not directly related (i.e: Quantum and Woody). I'd also love to see Rai forming a single central title within the 4001 universe for the time being, with new titles spinning off from the events occuring in Rai, as plotlines progress (e.g: Eternal Emporer).

Xo being the longest running titile Inthink takes the cake just for the longevity. But I really belive wrath of the eternal warrior 13 part story is the best single story they put out aince 2012 harbinger and bloodshot a close second.Shadowman99 wrote:My vote for best book since 2012 is easily XO. Re: Valiant Classified: Big Plans for the Future…
Ever since Divinity got benched, I really haven’t been enthusiastic about any of the new stuff...
I still need to read the last three issues of Lemire’s Bloodshot run...
Bloodshot Rising Spirit is a no go for me...
As is, Faith:Dreamside...
Last issue of X-O I read was #14, I still read X-O, I’m just behind, yet irritated that characters from Eternity are being used in this book, but Divinity is riding the bench....
I skipped the last arc in Ninjak. Good artist, wrong character...
I have Quantum and Woody up to issue #5, still haven’t read #3-5, probably never will...
No interest in Incursion...
I am however, enjoying Shadowman, and looking forward to LiveWire and The Life and Death of Toyo Harada...
If this new book is Rai related, I’ll give it a look, depending on the creative team...
Still no Psi-Lords, how many years later...

I don't mind Divinity being on the bench just now. Each story so far has been amazing, so where I'm concerned the creative team can take as long as they like crafting the next story so long as it's on par with the previous threeagent_graves wrote:Ever since Divinity got benched, I really haven’t been enthusiastic about any of the new stuff...![]()

In the meantime, seeing new characters from Eternity appearing in XO is great! Was genuinely surprised to see them return and am looking forward to seeing how that all plays out in XO's playground

Those teasers from the early Kindt XO books... We're still yet to see any payoff from the yet, as far as I'm aware. Everyone's guessing it's going to be Psi-lords, but you'll all be in for a shock if that's not what it turns out to be. I'd just like to see what it is, whatever it is!
