Fun with PhotoShop
Greg's got some good stuff that over here
http://www.valiantcomics.com/valiant/altgal.asp
and while playing with PhotoShop yesterday I found the Cracuelur filter...makes a pretty convincing chromium cover (each of these too about 3 mintues to do, and that includes re-sizing)
I'm not necessary saying that the chromium make the image better, but it is pretty fun to see.

If Greg wants to add it to this site, I don't have any problems with it! DL away....R Daneel wrote:ROFL.Shakespeare wrote:Oh Yeah!
Good stuff by Greg! Bofa needs to send in his altered art too, excellent stuff. I really need to take a stab at things...

Actually, I took a break from the pics to work on the X-O movie I was doing. After doing a few scenes, I realized that it was going to be next to impossible making a 3D movie out of 2D objects. I tried a number of different tricks with the camera angels, but it won't work without degrading the quality. So, I abandoned that project for now, but......dave wrote:hey boda-you were going like gang busters for a while when will we get some more pics?!
your work is great btw!
A few months ago I was able to get ahold of a working version of Maya 5 Unlimited, which is the 3D animation software that was used to create characters like Golum from LOTR along with the majority of the other special fx in that film. It was also used to create the hampster & rabbit in the Blockbuster commercials, along with a ton of other stuff.
Anyways.... this software costs around $7,000, & I was lucky enough to get it for next to nothing. I am currently watching the 48 tutorial DVDs from Gnomon studios that show you how to work with this monster program, & I plan on spending the next few months (if not longer) trying to learn this software. Once I get confident enough with it, I plan on going full steam ahead with a CG 3D movie of X-O!
This has been a dream of mine for some time now, & I won't quit until it's finished. I have the video & sound editing software I need, & plenty of reference material. Now it's just a matter of learning Maya.
