Dated Signatures. Like them or no?
I keep looking at my books that are signed and I just keep thinking I don't like when the signature is dated. do you?

I have a few books that were signed about the time they were released, so I really like those that are dated. Unity #0 Red signed with a little '92 is pretty cool to me. It's 25 years old and could have been signed any time. But that one was signed in '92.

I like it. Especially when I'm rediscovering something I have signed, it helps me remember the circumstances.

Agreed, Jeremy!
I CGC, so the dates are always on them. Still, having them as part of the sig reenforces the time/date/situation/feeling that comes with the book. I've also got posters that have been signed, those don't get CGCed but still having the date on there just add to the meaning

Dated signatures are nice when I get them signed myself. Not so nice when I buy them from someone else.

Kind of how I feel about my Divinity slabs. They could be signed at any point... but these were created when the book was first released.greg wrote:I have a few books that were signed about the time they were released, so I really like those that are dated. I definitely prefer mine dated for basically the reason everyone else has said. When I look back at it later I can remember when it was done and where I was at.
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

I talked with Joe Rubinstein at SLCC a week ago and he dated his sigs. I think it's cool. It helps me remember where and when I get some books signed.

Re: Dated Signatures. Like them or no?
if signed today but put 92 on it instead of todays date how would anyone know. Seems like a problem if people are thinking dated ads value.
If the signer isn't around anymore though
I think it's half way to personalized messages to owner which no one wants except current owner. I think it's cool if close to release but adds
that does not need to be there.
