EW, no contest. Jack Boniface, although imbued with magics, is still just a man while Gilad can resurrect.

Home field Deadside advantage could be big for Shadow Man though.

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
Interesting question. Normally Gilad wins, eventually, no matter what. But what if Shadowman hunts him down in the deadside at his vacation cabin between lives? Tricksy possibilities. I'd say that probably Gilad still wins... eventually.

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
Even if we take away the immortality factor for EW. His combat experience (tactics and hand to hand) alone should be enough to deal with Jack, and honestly most of the Valiant U.

Lol!
I was hoping to generate more discussion; however, I suppose it's my fault for not creating a more even match up...

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
I think the only hope Jack would have is if he can get Gilad into the Deadside, and that have a negative/disabling effect on Gilad's connection to the Earth.
Otherwise, it's all Gilad.

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
Damn, good question...
Gilad is obviously smarter, more calm and collected, and a better fighter, but Shadowman's clearly more powerful overall.
Gilad would probably take a couple critical blows and possibly die after the fact, but I think he'd be able to kill Jack before dying himself.

From a writing standpoint, the mantle of Shadowman can always be replaced with a new face, so I'm inclined to think Gilad would come out on top.

That mask would wind up in one of Gilad's apartments, next to some old axe or something.
Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
Not sure we ever found out what Shadowman's actual powers and abilities are (or at least, I'm unclear on it beyond his ability to cross to the Deadside). I'd go with Gilad.

That's kinda true. If I was sitting with a friend and he pointed at Shadowman and asked what his powerset is, I'm not sure how I'd answer.Zhuge1 wrote:Not sure we ever found out what Shadowman's actual powers and abilities are (or at least, I'm unclear on it beyond his ability to cross to the Deadside).

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
I can still recall the first time I heard of Shadowman back in the 90's... I was already into a couple of Valiant books (Harbinger, Solar, Magnus) but couldn't afford all their new titles at the time (big price difference from Marvel/DC on a tight budget).jmatt wrote:That's kinda true. A friend of mine was reading Shadowman though, and when I asked him what it was about & what his powers were, he just shrugged and said "I don't really know, he just gets really aggressive & goes around beating up criminals at night!"

FACT: Based on this explanation, I too could reasonably be considered Shadowman.grendeljd wrote:A friend of mine was reading Shadowman though, and when I asked him what it was about & what his powers were, he just shrugged and said "I don't really know, he just gets really aggressive & goes around beating up criminals at night!"

Do you have a variant cover by any chance?DirtbagSailor wrote:FACT: Based on this explanation, I too could reasonably be considered Shadowman.grendeljd wrote:A friend of mine was reading Shadowman though, and when I asked him what it was about & what his powers were, he just shrugged and said "I don't really know, he just gets really aggressive & goes around beating up criminals at night!"

Never really considered it, but given that description, I think Shadowman could also work for the Baltimore P.D. Far out.DirtbagSailor wrote:FACT: Based on this explanation, I too could reasonably be considered Shadowman.grendeljd wrote:A friend of mine was reading Shadowman though, and when I asked him what it was about & what his powers were, he just shrugged and said "I don't really know, he just gets really aggressive & goes around beating up criminals at night!"

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
And that's a pretty good summary. Early V1 Shadowman was kinda like Batman and I liked that take on him a lot.grendeljd wrote:A friend of mine was reading Shadowman though, and when I asked him what it was about & what his powers were, he just shrugged and said "I don't really know, he just gets really aggressive & goes around beating up criminals at night!"
But for the VEI version... I could recite some stuff we've seen him go through (Loas and Magpie, etc) but I'm hard pressed to put a finger on what you might say his "power" is. I dunno, maybe that's a good thing in some ways.

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Shadowman vs Eternal Warrior
Gilad wins via KO in the 2nd!
Oh yeah, I should elaborate a bit: cuz he's an immortal and a time-tested warrior that's fought in countless wars throughout time.
