Ninjak v Valiant Universe?

Anybody know what's going on with this? Was it scrapped? The trailer looked low budget, but I'd still watch it. Any word?

It hasn't been scrapped. I believe when it was announced they said it would come out later this year.

If anything it's the opposite of scrapped. It was originally announced as Sept-Oct of 2017. It's filming actively, and I know this from the director of the series who also films his Superpower Beatdowns at our store.

Cool. I thought I had read it was scheduled for January 2017. I'm probably wrong though. I just remember there was a lot of publicity on it about 6 months ago, and then it's been kind of quiet since then.
I don't remember hearing them discuss it at the valiant summit the other day either.

I think it looks very good for a free YouTube series. It's not a trailer for a hundred million dollar movie.

It's being produced by Bat In The Sun, one of the most successful YouTube series creators.

They had many of the stars at a Wondercon panel a few weeks back, and showed some new footage. Looked great.

I understand the context of of it. Just commenting on the CGI mostly. I'm looking forward to it, which is why I asked about it.
I actually just discovered Valiant, and rediscovered comics in general. The new XO is what turned me on to this universe. Been devouring Valiant tpb's all month since then. The entire universe is so smart and amazing. Since becoming obsessed with Valiant, I have learned about how the way they produce their books differs from the Big 2. I.E. long term plans, focus on stories and characters, limited characters, smart inter-weaving, etc. I just think this kind of care makes all the difference, and I wonder why more people are not into Valiant.
Thanks to all who responded to my original question. If anybody learns of a release date on this Ninjak series, please let me know. Greatly appreciated.

At ECCC in March, they showed a sneak preview. The videos were AMAZING! Seriously, I'm super stoked on this. I think we might hear on launch at NYCC.

Tell me about it... So many comic readers out there who literally don't know what they're missing here :?

On another note, I thought the trailers mostly looked pretty good, but the Bloodshot teaser looked really, really awful

Did they show you the Roku scene they showed at Wondercon?

Agreed. The Bloodshot fight scene was tight. The Roku scene was completely unexpected for me. That was seriously dark. This is not Shooter's Valiant for sure.

I try not to let cooks that are bleeding serve me :) I thought that article was really well done, especially for a Bleeding Cool article. It sounds like the role of Bloodshot in Ninjak v Valiant Universe has grown substantially.

Just noticed on the Valiant database site that the June 21st Rapture #2 is supposed to have a variant cover that is the logo for Ninjak v The Valiant U.
I'm so hoping that cover is meant to coincide with a release of the series. :high-five:

Or maybe in July, since that month we have a NvTVU cover for Rapture #3 and the Bloodshot's Day Off oneshot. Either way, I'm also hopeful that this means the series will be getting released around this time! :thumb:

The series will happen when it happens, closer to the end of the year. I can tell you with certainty that it IS happening. It is being produced and shot right now, I am aware of what they are shooting almost on daily basis and it IS going really well. Most of the people involved, at least those in LA, are at my shop on semi-regular basis.

Man, I wish we at least had a release date. The anticipation is killing me.
If this thing is even halfway decent I will break the some of the YouTubes from refreshing over and over.
I thought it was weird that they cast an Armstrong, but not an Archer.
Tell the folks coming in your shop thanks for their hard work, and that the fans are chomping at the bit. Can't wait.

In the trailer, you can see Archer standing next to Armstrong when Armstrong says, "It's time."

I'm guessing the trailer mostly shows scenes from the first episode? Looking back it seems like MI-6/G.A.T.E. is forming Unity in the shots where we see other Valiant characters.

The Wondercon panels showed some really really cool sh!t. The Shaman of Sexy as The Eternal Warrior looks interesting, at first thought I didn't think he could pull the look off (too thin IMO) but after seeing the variant covers I'm glad to have been proven wrong on my initial take.

Many wrestlers seem "thin" when next to other wrestlers, but in real life would be considered crazy jacked. I remember running into Chris Jericho, Edge and Christian at a piano recital years back and thinking how huge Edge and Christian were and they would have been considered "thin" wrestlers.
