Only 6 books, and only half are ongoing. 2 of them aren't even set in the present. It's not really looking like a connected universe right now.

I knew Gen Zero would be ending soon but I was kind of hoping there'd be something to take its place. As well as something to take the place of A&A.

Looks like Ninjak will have at least another arc in it.

No Bloodshot, no Harbinger, no Rai, still no Quantum & Woody.

Weird there's no Harbinger Renegade or anything Bloodshot related.

Dino teased earlier today that there was a spoiler for an upcoming announcement in that Faith cover...if you look closely you'll see it over her left shoulder on the book shelf :D

So, completely off the wall.

Gen Zero ends, Harbinger Renegade pauses, Issue 5 (or maybe 4, we don't know), Gen Zero joins Harbinger Renegade in time for Harbinger Wars 2. (Info comes from a text from FVL to someone where FVL said this would happen)

Bloodshot will get it's third 0, but what about the next run? Could Bloodshot also be also gearing up for Harbinger Wars 2? I would think in some capacity, yes. (no Info, shear speculation)

Ninjak ongoing, we see a continuation of another arc. Involvement in HW2? possibly

XO start up, this is good

Patience, we know it will land and that it'll happen this year, we are barely 4 months through projection. I am betting, much like Valiant likes to do, is they are trying to create movement, create headlines, create talk. This WILL all happen, we just gotta give it time.

Maybe think of it as a time that you can save your money up to buy all of the summer/winter books :thumb:

No reason for gloom, but meh- what a weak, weak month.
:|
Not trolling or anything, (c'mon...) since 4 of the 6 books look interesting, to say the least.
But this output is really weak, In My Humble Opinion.

So my main questions here, like others are:

No Bloodshot?
No Harb Renegades from March onwards? Was this always a four-part thing and I missed that message somehow? :?

Without the Immortal Bros. one-shot, April is looking like a 5-title month. There must be some new stuff coming in March and April that's not been announced yet, surely, otherwise why are Valiant scaling back the amount of titles hitting the shelves?

It's the calm before the storm. July is when Renegades comes back, and I imagine Lemire will have Bloodshot up sometime around there.

I also have this sneaky suspicion that we haven't seen the last of VDitty. Too much talk on Twitter, joking around, etc. Just makes ya get a gut feeling, ya know?

I know they are gearing up for HW2 and many new launches. I'm just surprised at such a light month with a lack of several major titles.

I need Shadowman and something 4001 related (Secret Weapons maybe?) along with Harby, Bloodshot and the relaunched XO to feel like this is VEI again...more Immortal Bros in some form down the line would be great too.

Ninjak is the only title I'll be getting in April.

The Secret Weapons tease on the Faith cover is cool. I wonder if this series (if it comes to fruition) will be as a result of Stalinverse? A team comprising Archer, Armstrong, Bloodshot, Ninjak, and Eternal Warrior? Who knows really...

Good to see Ninjak isn't ending (at least it looks that way), personally i would've like to have seen a new Bloodshot book, a new team book (Secret Weapons) and perhaps the return of Shadowman / Quantum & Woody but it it what it is.

Every title looks fantastic. I am pleased that the number of titles (and number of variants) is low, so that I might make a play for an XO 1 1:500! I appreciate that VEI is really focusing their line, and expect all the flagship characters (XO, Harby, BS, SM, Ninjak, Rai) to get their own regular titles and to begin or to continue long runs soon. Also I expect loads of miniseries from new characters (WarMother, RedLegend, etc.) and one-shots from lots of others who couldn't maintain ongoing series (EW, Ivar, Q&W, etc.)

Valiant still hasn't announced their 2017 convention tour, but they will. They wouldn't kick off their conventions without something big being announced first and then showcased everywhere along the way. Sure, it'll be a lighter month this time, but something big is seemingly brewing, and I don't mean just the X-O relaunch.

:hope: that Great announcements are on the way.
We can expect Secret Weapons (although I have no idea what that will be here) and possibly Shadowman, given the teasers at least. And Psi-Lords.

I'm pretty sure the creative team is remaining intact. Why would Valiant want to bail on who is probably the biggest name artist they've gotten to do interiors? I get you don't like his work, but he is a big deal.

Thanks for the context on Darick Robertson. I hadn't considered that.

I'm pretty disappointed with a 6-issue month personally. I want as much Valiant as possible, although I understand the realities of the market. What I'd really like is 12 issues a month, including 8 on-goings for the flagship characters, and 4 splits between minis, event books, one-shots, zeros, etc. I think a consistent monthly number of issues would be nice.

I am ok with it. Honestly I need the break to gear up for XO. I do really miss Rai and the future verse though.

6 issue is too scarce for VEI's excellent roster ('those' 3 definitely not included). It has been growing constantly better with new additions such as Divinity (3), Imperium, Deathmate, War Mother or Antonius Axia, to name some.

I read everything (except pre VEI reprints) and also thirst for further news on this year's plans. I would rather have something like 5 ongoings, 3 minis/special projects (such as spin-offs or annuals) and 1 one shot per month. Chronologically wise, It should go something as 6 set in the present, 2 in 4002 A.D. and the last 1 whenever between alpha and omega (Britannia, The Anni-Paddas, etc).

The Immortal Brothers (like The Delinquents) is an excellent alternate pairing of those characters. There will be three more one-shots based on Valiant Classic stories/concepts, during the year, right? I imagine this info will be given Red Brigade unveiling style.
Harbinger: Renegade (meh, for now) on pause and Gen Zero over: we need more team stuff. Psi-Lords and Secret Weapons were hinted at, I hope they will be as finely retooled as the new Dr(s) Mirage or Deathmate were.
X-O Manowar: he's the MAN. The new series looks great, with new aliens.
Faith: a new villian crew. Nice name, this title is well done. (@x's digs, also)
Ninjak: equals his original run. Are we SURE it will continue? I wish it does. It's better than the original and it can get better.

Bloodshot Salvation and Harbinger Wars 2 ( w/ more 'n better Armorines), this year's crossover event, are forthcoming. Shadowman seems to be returning. His absence was as glaring as Rai's stillness of tidings. I like them both

More requests: A- the War Mother/4002 A.D mini (and other new creations such as Red Legend). B- More unused and retooled VH1 character/s (Geomancer, Outcast, Visitor, for example) solo stories, as well as Acclaim ones, as other regular characters: Black Lion and Dr Tomorrow could be very good guest-stars in such titles as Shadowman or Quantum and Woody.

Sorry for the wall of text.

Jan - 9 books, Feb - 8 books, Mar - 7 books, Apr - 6 books

At least there will be no off-week in April (unlike March) and three awesome #1's. Valiant will probably sell more copies in April than in any of the previous three months and perhaps it makes sense not to launch any of the other upcoming ongoing series before May. The relaunch of XO - Valiant's flagship title - and the FCBD freebie a week later may generate a few new readers.

It doesn't say final issue and sounds like the Seven Blades arc will be concluded with issue #26 and there will be at least one more arc (and 30 issues in total). The book still sells between 5.5 and 6k at the moment. The Silent Issue sold 500k more than the previous issue and the first issue of the Seven Blades arc may even sell another 500k more. Valiant would be stupid to drop this title right now. It's good to have one book with a higher numbering especially when they're only releasing a limited amount of books in the upcoming months... and before the new series will come out.
