February 2017 Solicitations
Valiant's solicitations for February should be released tomorrow. Anyone thinking we might be surprised? Right now I am expecting the following:
A&A #12
Ninjak #24
Faith #8
Generation Zero #7
Savage #4
Harbinger: Renegade #4
Divinity III: Stalinverse #3
Divinity III: Shadowman
Will we see a new Bloodshot series, or possibly a continuation of Reborn? Maybe something else unexpected?

A continuation would be awesome, I think Reborn has to be close to being done.jeremycoe wrote: Will we see a new Bloodshot series, or possibly a continuation of Reborn? Maybe something else unexpected?

I thought it was said that there would be one more issue of Reborn following USA. I'll see if I can find it on Twitter when I get home.
Re: February 2017 Solicitations
Deleted, I thought this was an official listing.

However, March will have the mystery 4th character/oneshot for Stalinverse... I think we should start seeing clues for that in the next week or two.

The 4th could either be a new character, like 4001AD War Mother, or maybe Faith considering her push this year?Keith wrote:I'd love to see a surprise announcement, but I think the above list represents all we'll see tomorrow.jeremycoe wrote:Valiant's solicitations for February should be released tomorrow. Re: February 2017 Solicitations
There are around six series left to be relaunched from the old Valiant Universe. If none of them appear in February's solicitations then we'll probably start seeing name drops soon like what Valiant did with Britannia and Savage. Based on what Dinesh said in 2016's State of Valiant, the teases from Book of Death are part of a three year plan that will culminate in late 2018 or early 2019. We'll likely see the following characters gradually introduced over the next two years.
1. Doctor Tomorrow (The Concept Has Potential)
2. Geomancer/Tama (Teased)
3. Livewire (Valiant trademarked Livewire a while back, probably for a series.)
4. Outcast (Teased)
5. Trinity Angels (Teased)
6. Troublemakers (Teased)
7. Visitor (Teased)
Also there seems to be a pattern with how they're introducing the Book of Death cameo characters, making their first issue debut in a crossover tie-in. There were six unidentified characters. Considering how different War Mother look from her debut, and her first cameo I'd say all of those characters are subject to undergo visual revisions before they officially make their way to the page. Maybe we'll be introduced the Luchador character in March? He was the only cameo character to show up in more than one panel.
I'm willing to bet Bloodshot will continue past Bloodshot USA. Lemire is probably done with the character, based on what he said in interviews, but I doubt Bloodshot will be out of print when his feature film debut is only over a year away. Upcoming media exposure will give him some extra time on the shelves. Bloodshot USA is probably just going to be used to bridge the gap between this series the next one.

I gave this title a break. First arc was funny. The rest is sucking BIG. My opinion, of course. Don't want to offend anyone who enjoys this light-hearted comic, but to me it's just VERY stupid. I don't genuinely laugh (the main objective of this book?) when reading this series since issue 3 or 4, I think. Sort of waste of talent (Rafer Roberts might be a good writer, not saying the opposite, its just this book feels too damn silly and inconsequential) and space on the shelves.
Bring A&A back, but try another tone. Less stupid, but if it is stupid, balance it with connections to the VEIverse that we all love, like what FVL did. And his book was funny as hell, but never dumb. This A+A is dumb.

Re: February 2017 Solicitations
Dinesh got quoted on face book group. Xo ManOwar announcement after thanksgiving. And coming soon is secret weapon.
Did anyone notice Savage got pushed back a week.
It makes sense to bridge the Reborn with a new bloodtitle by doing another #1 mini and it's really good and fits in. So yay bloodshot and how it's been handled. Two thumbs up.

Re: February 2017 Solicitations
Nothing I've seen had Savage coming out this week. I know that the e-mails Hunter sends out for all the books, at least ones I've read, showed it coming out the 30th. There will also be a 2nd printing coming out middle of December.

The only place I've seen it show this week is Valiant's own website. Everything else, including the original solicitations on Newsarama show 11/30. Some web guy probably just messed it up.Joshua wrote:Nothing I've seen had Savage coming out this week. The VEI website had it listed as Nov 23rd, but I think that was a typo - all the solicitation info otherwise said Nov 30th.Joshua wrote:Nothing I've seen had Savage coming out this week. Re: February 2017 Solicitations

I would be over my head. And I would forgive VEI for this kinda meh year, IMHO, with all these totally different-in-tone ongoing books like Faith, A+A or Gen Zero, that again, IMHO, did little to please the company's base fans- we are a very small percentage of the Valiant crowd, but let's take the poll POV.

Faith is the winner, no doubt about it. Good for VEI for the sales, of course.
Divinity II was awesome and Britannia looks like it is going to be also.
But the rest of the "2016 new" ongoing books could easily be cancelled and I would be totally ok with it. Heck, even if Faith got cancelled- It's just not for me. Gen Zero has yet to pick my interest afer #1, and A+A- well, I already got into that one. I feel like barely-half of the company's output is not for me.

It's like when I was getting into Valiant, 4 years and some change ago- I just want X-O, Bloodshot, Ninjak, Gilad, and Shadowman. Everyfreakingmonthoftheyear.

edit- and a Joshua Dysart book. Please, Valiant. Make 2017 the comeback of the Great One to your house.

No Bloodshot.
I'm done with Valiant. I refuse to wait months until another series comes along. If Valiant cant deliver Bloodshot, Harbinger, Shadowman, XO monthly as their flagship books then I cant get with this.
Thanks for the ride, its been fun at times.
