Re: 2016 Teases
Just read the side-bars on that page for Archer & Armstrong, describing Archer as 'teenage marksman'. Um. I hope not another example of a writer not actually understanding the capabilities of a key character (after Dead Drop).
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Back on topic...
This pleases me:
I do hope for Psi-Lords (like we saw when HARD Corps was introduced via Harbinger Wars).
This pleases me:
Suddenly the 4001 AD version of VALIANT Earth will feel a little less insular. I don't want or feel the need for time-hopping from t'then'to 'now', but the inclusion of an X-O Manowar, Armstrong and Bloodshot and possibly others among the cast we have seen in Rai so far is a good thing, a route to opening up that era.Earth must rise. Father must fall. Rai! Eternal Warrior! X-O Manowar! Bloodshot! Geomancer! Armstrong! And more! The war for the ultimate fate of humanity begins in 4001 A.D.!

I do hope for Psi-Lords (like we saw when HARD Corps was introduced via Harbinger Wars).

Re: 2016 Teases
looks pretty cool. would have preferred a 4001ad-anthology through. those events every half a year, not quite my thing. one every two-three years would be more interesting (and spectacular).
having said that, this, of all the stuff we've had until now, feels closest to a unity-kind of event.

Re: 2016 Teases
Considering that many people seem to want to see Rai more often, I think this event will feel like we're getting a bit caught up on the missed months. What I like especially is that it seems the event is isolated to fans of one series. If you don't follow Rai, you're not going to miss anything by skipping it.krylox wrote:looks pretty cool. would have preferred a 4001ad-anthology through. those events every half a year, not quite my thing. one every two-three years would be more interesting (and spectacular).

Didn't bloodshot die before 4001 in BoD:FoBS? So how does he appear? XO (Aric is also dead before 4001, but XO solicited could mean his daughter featured in BoD:FoXO).... New Japan looks cool though, ala VH1 New Japan....
What's that New Japan's set to bite? Looks like a bulked up XO armor. Ala Hulkbuster armor

I think that X-O, Bloodshot and Archer might be taken to 4001 by Neela, I kind of hope they don't do that though.

Re: 2016 Teases
I think Armstrong features in the comic, not Archer. I guess in theory any character could be taken anywhere in time by Ivar/Neela. Probably see it happen at some point in the future, as Armstrong/EW were already taken to 4001 by Ivar in his comic.Brapbrap wrote:I think that X-O, Bloodshot and Archer might be taken to 4001 by Neela, I kind of hope they don't do that though.

Re: 2016 Teases
In theory, all those characters could still exist in some way/shape/form in 4001. Granted, it would probably be a new person in the X-O armor, and Bloodshot would be on his almost last legs.Shadowman99 wrote:I think Armstrong features in the comic, not Archer. Re: 2016 Teases
Interesting. Presumably time to start mumbling 'Mothergod' or something?
So will the third cosmonaut be revealed in Divinity II or Divinity III?

I hope II and or III, are not complete origins of the next two cosmonauts. It's still so much ground that needs to be covered with Divinity, and unfortunately, they're sticking to the 4 issue format.leonmallett wrote:Interesting. Presumably time to start mumbling 'Mothergod' or something?

Both books look amazing, I'm going to guess that we'll get Bloodshot Island teaser tomorrow and Britannia by Thursday.

Re: 2016 Teases
Genuine question here, not trying to wind you up: How could Archer be alive in 4001? Would it be something to do with his psiot abilities, or an ability to traverse time somewhat via the Faraway perhaps?Keith wrote:In theory, all those characters could still exist in some way/shape/form in 4001. Re: 2016 Teases
I guess the three Divinities were all revealed in the original arc, as it stated pretty clearly that three cosmonaughts went on the mission.leonmallett wrote:Interesting. Presumably time to start mumbling 'Mothergod' or something?

You're not the only person to have 'Mothergod' pop into their mind. I wonder if there will be a Phil Seleski/Erica Pierce parallel further down the line between Abram and this second cosmonaught?

Re: 2016 Teases
Maybe it's a matter of patience - I'd love to see the entire second and third arcs constitute the origin story for the other two cosmonaughts that were on Abram's ship, with further arcs from there using the characters in more interactive contexts. I don't mind a story being told slowly and patiently if it's a good oneagent_graves wrote:I hope II and or III, are not complete origins of the next two cosmonauts. At the rate they're releasing these mini's, (once every 12-14 months) if they went that route, Kindt wouldn't touch base with Divinity again until 2018.Shadowman99 wrote:Maybe it's a matter of patience - I'd love to see the entire second and third arcs constitute the origin story for the other two cosmonaughts that were on Abram's ship, with further arcs from there using the characters in more interactive contexts. Re: 2016 Teases
I think people are over reacting to that teaser image. We already knew the female astronaut would be appearing in the follow up mini. I doubt VEI is stupid enough to not feature their breakout creation in the second eponymous miniseries. I have a feeling this astronaut comes to Earth as a result of Divinity's arrival here.agent_graves wrote:At the rate they're releasing these mini's, (once every 12-14 months) if they went that route, Kindt wouldn't touch base with Divinity again until 2018.Shadowman99 wrote:Maybe it's a matter of patience - I'd love to see the entire second and third arcs constitute the origin story for the other two cosmonaughts that were on Abram's ship, with further arcs from there using the characters in more interactive contexts.
