It does look like a battle on Deadside. Put some armor on Dr. (Mrs.) Mirage and you get a character like that one on the cover.

As much as I may hate to put a damper on this thread as I am you started it, LOL, the new issue of previews seems to pooh-pooh this one. The advanced solicit clearly states who it is. But maybe this wonderful rumor from our friends at bleeding cool have heard a rumor that may still be true but pertaining to another part of the story? I love the wild speculation so please by all means continue!

Some guy named Gilad Anni-Padda. I think there is a possibility that the new series may feature Gilad somewhere off-Earth as well as a new Eternal Warrior fighting Earth's battles. Maybe.

If Darque is corrupting the power of the Earth to combine with his power over Deadside, and if Gilad is able to defeat (at least temporarily) Darque, then there is the potential that Gilad gains power over Deadside (as well as being powered by the Earth) as a result. 'Bring balance back to the force(s)'.

In a preview for WOtEW #1 Gilad talks to his wife Leena about their son Kalem where she sais: "You know his place here is... complicated. It doesn't help that you haven't spoken to him about his lineage"

I personaly would prefer if Gilad stays as the Eternal Warrior but that quote could support this rumor

It is possible that he could pass the title on and then reclaim it later. That's how every other comic book works

I personally think Gilad will be the Eternal Warrior of this series, but who knows.
