Well, consider this a sneak preview. Sources tell us that Valiant is planning a major new series in 2016 — or possibly more than one — to give their publishing line a preeminent female icon on par with DC’s Wonder Woman or Marvel’s Captain Marvel.

Idea what if Livewire is given a new name(its a little overused) and partnered with GIN-GR as they explore the galaxy. A kinda Dr. Who for space with GIN-GR being her living TARDIS, no one in these worlds know her name they just call her "THE VISITOR".

I hope this isn't going to see another mini or a new character introduced in an ongoing as a supporting cast member - would like something that LASTS a little longer than an arc/mini/12 issues from VEI...
I'm thinking we may see an new Geomancer or the return (somehow) of Kay - she could fit the female icon mold I reckon that Valiant wants...
or...
Neela, Timewalker

Midnight Earlene.
Seriously, any of the suggestions listed by Bleedingcool would be fine by me. A Livewire book with Stronghold as love-interest would be cool, at the very least a zero issue about how they met and started dating.
I think some female legacy heroes would be nice like a female Rai, a Shadowwoman or just a female H.A.R.D. Corps member. Or maybe Ninja-L can be a woman. NINJAL!
Ugh. I feel bad even typing that.
We could use another 4001 book. I'd read Momo: Positron Pugilist

Re: Valiant To Create A New Female Icon For 2016
If it's not a new character, my money is on Tama.
First, we know Valiant received a large cash infusion to develop characters for the Asian market.
Second, her presence as a future geomancer here in the present day is wreaking havoc with everything going on in the BoD mini.
Thirdly, she is the carrier of the Book of Death itself, which may come into play as a plot device that transitions her into a greater power.
And finally, if they don't want Gilad tied down with a child Geomancer, breaking her out into her own book/character would fit, especially since VEI has teased that we haven't seen the last of Kay.
I bought 20 NM copies of The Valiant #4 anticipating she would be an important character beyond the present goings on. Maybe its time to grab a few more... I'm sure Valiant would love to heat up the back issue market like this and create a frenzy like Divinity #1 did. And with only 8795 issues printed, the 1:50 would number 175 issues...
For the heck of it, I just grabbed the last NM #4 1:50 from Midtown.

Bloodshot falls while also taking down Rampage, and all the nanites from both go into the nearby female cradling Rays now lifeless body, creating... BLOOD-MAGIC!!!

I have a theory on this, and have explored (what I believe is) every possible option and cross-referenced with what we know from published issue over the past 3 years, along with what we know (from reading) has occurred/will occur.
As a result, my buying has commenced, and while Valiant may surprise us, I do not believe that I am wrong...

What if Faith, Kris and Animalia form a new all-female super-group the "PSI-ANGELS".

Re: Valiant To Create A New Female Icon For 2016
Y'know, I always took Livewire to be Valiant's analog to Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel, considering her importance to the universe thus far. Hell, she hits the double-whammy by being both female and black. The fact that she hasn't had her own comic yet is surprising, though one could say Unity was basically hers.
The other two after that are Punk Mambo and Faith. Punk Mambo has proven herself to be a massive Ensemble Darkhorse, to the point of being the first original-VEI character to have her own comic, albeit a one-shot. In contrast, Faith still holds onto her legacy and fame from VH1, and she benefits from both her nerdiness being more mainstream and actually having offensive capabilities.
Tama would definitely be interesting, what with being the Geomancer and all, but I'm going to be extremely superficial: she could use a hair re-do. It's like a mini-pompadour with widow's peak that's also trying to look like Padme from Star Wars and I just have no idea what the hell is going on. Roku we know is going to become a good guy thanks to Book of Death, but it still seems kinda early. Dr. Mirage and Animalia can have their own series, but are otherwise don't have that level of importance. Saana is very unlikely. GIN-GR is extremely unlikely. And that's assuming they don't just pull out someone new.
(Also want to note that it's very easy to just call something "iconic" without it actually being iconic. Ubisoft famously got a lot of *SQUEE* for trying to merchandise Aiden Pierce's "iconic" cap a good while before Watch_Dogs was even released.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, while I very much welcome "strong female character who don't need no man #2,000,437", you should not make a character a certain gender or race just for the sake of appeasing some socio-political movement
We already have Dr. Mirage and Livewire

Seems presumptuous of VEI; creating a character on par with Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) or possibly an even more challenging proposition to be on par with Wonder Woman just does not happen because they wish it so. <sigh>

I suspect that they mean in-terms of relative A-List status in the Valiant Universe and/or formidable power-level that are on-par with such a claim.leonmallett wrote:Seems presumptuous of VEI; creating a character on par with Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) or possibly an even more challenging proposition to be on par with Wonder Woman just does not happen because they wish it so. <sigh>
Meaning that both Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman are capable at holding their own with some of the very best their respective universes have to offer; likewise, in the Valiant Universe this *NEW* character would likely be written along those lines and in that context.
"iconic" in the sense of front-and-center to the Valiant Universe with a significant role that spans multiple titles and further impacts as many characters.

My Vote goes to a woman taking over the X-O armor after issue 50
Perhaps Jamie Capshaw .. She seems like someone that VEI has been keeping around consistently for awhile now.
Maybe she makes the leap to the big time..
That's where I would put my money ... but my hope is for something completely new and different
