Quantum and Woody Must Die #4
I enjoyed this end to the arc.
It is also nice that they tied it to the special.
Altogether a nice, refreshing issue.

Counting down the minutes until I can get to my LCS! Glad to hear some positive responses so far!

So, how long are we going to have to wait to see what the Goat gives birth to?
BTW, Steve Leiber is awesome. Loved his art this whole arc.

Probably my favorite Q&W arc since the beginning! Definitely satisfying, great character moments and nostalgically dark and subtle humor in this one. Only complaint I have is that I have to wait to find out what happens next!

Best VEI Q&W arc yet. I'm betting the new arc will begin in September after Dead Drop wraps.
Alone, listless, breakfast table in an otherwise empty room.

Re: Quantum and Woody Must Die #4
For me, yes the best Asmus Quantum and woody arc, although still not up to the highest standards of VEI's output by any stretch - sorry, but that is how I feel.
That said, the arc has had pluses, and some of those have to sit with Asmus. I think he is trying some genuine character development at times, in small doses admittedly, but it is there.
There was something resembling a plot, with twists and turns, and less relaince on the story-telling mechanics of coincidence or flight of logic that we saw in the first ongoing.
There were fewer attempts at the forced over the top 'humour', which is a good decision for me, although I get that for many others they enjoyed that; I didn't, because I just don't Asmus a particularly skilled humourist.
The art through the arc was a very good fit to the story, and the sensibilities of it felt 'right'.
Honestly, I think after the nadir of VEI's quality that I found the ongoing to be, I think I can see signs of a book/sequence of mini series getting better, and that is something.

VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

This was a great arc. The book is starting to settle in and get a groove. I liked it way more than Q2.
