And why doesn't Dysart do HARDcorps?
Isn't he still exclusive?
Only 1 comic per month?
He was writing Bloodshot and HC at the end and is using them in Imperium it makes sense....

Re: And why doesn't Dysart do HARDcorps?
Maybe he doesn't want to.
Maybe VEI doesn't want him to.
Maybe the market can't support a H.A.R.D. Corps monthly.
It's probably some combination of any or all of the above.

Why? Cause he killed off all the cool ones in the first issue!

I think they're better supporting characters. An occasional miniseries would be fine with me, though.

+1 to that. I feel the same way about the Armorines.BugsySig wrote:I think they're better supporting characters. An occasional miniseries would be fine with me, though.
Now a H.A.R.D. Corps vs. Armorines miniseries slugfest? That I'd be down for.

I agree that these characters are best left as supporting cast. History has proven how that played out.
One of the biggest blind spots people have for their favorite characters is realizing what makes them so cool is that they are not the main characters. Being a supporting cast gives them shroud of mystery and unpredictability. I'd rather have the HARDcorps surprise me.

Well, they got Matt Kindt on like 20 books, so I think it'd be wise to not spread the rest of their talent too thin.Michael_Ayer wrote:Isn't he still exclusive?

And where the hell is Christos Gage? He was a great addition to Valiant with and without Dysart.

Christos is still doing Buffy monthly for Dark Horse, but that is the only steady comic gig he is doing right now. He and his wife just finished a graphic novel for Oni Press that will be out later this year. He and his wife have been spending most of their time working on a TV show so that is why he has cut back on his comic work.Tim wrote:And where the hell is Christos Gage? I love VEI Hard Corps, but as said above they're best served as guest appearances in another title, imo.

I'm all for the mini-series idea as well focused on specific missions.

My vote is for as much Dysart as I can get.
And as for where Christos Gage is, he was into booth on Sunday. (So was Dysart and the Baron)

Its a good question for VEI.
I'm pretty sure Dysart would love to write any VEI book.

More Dysart is always welcome! I really don't care what, it'd all be great. When VDitti eventually leaves XO he'd be great there, though.

I would welcome Duffy Boudreau for more HARD corps, I thought his issues were excellent.

Re: And why doesn't Dysart do HARDcorps?
as much as I'd like to see every character and team have their own ongoing series, it should be acknowledged that background characters without their own book are an essential part of a shared universe. this was a component that was noticeably absent from DC's new 52, because it seemed every character in the whole universe had their own ongoing series (well, at least until the first wave of cancellations 8 months into the reboot).
I think VEI seriously contemplates the merits of every book they publish. though we might sometimes disagree with their choices, it's hard to argue that the books they publish don't deserve to exist for a reason:
Ivar, Timewalker, overdue and a natural progression of A&A.
Imperium, how could this book not exist after Harbinger?
Bloodshot Reborn, this book needs to be done after the Valiant.
Ninjak, long overdue.
while I'd certainly welcome another book by Dysert, I just can't think of why it should be H.A.R.D.Corps. it's a team that exists in the shadows and will always be there doing its thing. they will naturally pop up every now and then, but something in the universe would have to drastically change for them to deserve full time monthly attention.

Re: And why doesn't Dysart do HARDcorps?
I can only assume that the reason Dysart is not doing a HARD Corps book is because we live in a cruel clockwork universe the gears of which are greased with my despair. Seriously, I'd love a Dysart-penned Hard Corps book. It was one of my favorite titles back in the VH1 days and I loved it when they basically took over Bloodshot's title. The power switching aspect makes if fun in a comic book way, the corporate setting can make for some interesting commentary on society, and it has a high mortality rate.
As sadistic as it sounds I like reading comics where the characters could die and Hard Corps has delivered on that.
The problem is the lack of an enemy. VEI has done a great job at creating villains so far but right now there doesn't seem like anything for the group to fight against. PRS has served as villains for so long that it would be hard to get behind a new corps that worked for them. As much as I would love to see Gunslinger and the gang fight some bad guys I'm interested in this new, morally ambiguous and possibly villainous version that was alluded to in Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps. I think what made them compelling heroes can also make them interesting villains.
For the time being I don't mind the Corps filling the villain void.

Did HC show up anywhere in between BS&HC and Imperium?
