Spider-Gwen Fever

Post by StarBrand »

I heard there might be some madness at comic book stores tomorrow with Spider-Gwen 1 coming out. If anyone sees any signs of this, I'd like to hear about it right here in this handy thread. Thanks!
Also, what are you guys seeing on the internet and such about Spider-Gwen? How about at shows?

200K print run, there shouldn't be too much craziness... you'd think.

I didn't really think it had legs like this. Very pleasantly surprised.

Has there ever been a female comic book character as hot as Spider-Gwen is right now?

When EoSV 2 came out my LCS guy asked me if I wanted one but I was getting tired of all the loopy-*SQUEE* Spidey spinoffs so I said "Nah."

OK, went out to the larger LCS just after noon today, they had ONE raggedy looking copy left of S-G #1, regular cover. Plenty of the Skottie Young variant & plenty of blanks, but only one regular cover left. It was bent up and dog-eared, so I left it on the shelf.

On to the smaller shop I know of in Chapel Hill, and they had a stack of 25 or so still on their shelf, so I picked the maximum of two they allow and went on my way.

I was hoping to get two from each shop, but oh well. Now, let's see what going eBay prices are by the weekend!

Absolutely tons of these available on eBay at the moment. They are selling extremely fast, though. It should be interesting to see how this goes. If they do go up in price on eBay, it may be a week or two or maybe more before that happens. Then again, at the rate they are selling they could be up in price by the weekend. :hm:

Here's an auction I'm keying on. When Joey from Comic Kings bumps his price on Spider-Gwen 1, that's going to open things up a bit. Lots of sellers still have lots of copies, but they are moving fast. Check out the sold copies on this item by way of example.

I have one 1st print in my not sale box. I do have a few 2nd prints. I've been told that the print run of the 2nd print is low low low.

This seller will probably raise his price shortly.

Warren at thecargohold came out at full cover on Spider-Gwen 1 and is almost out of his initial quantity he made available. It will be interesting to see if he goes over cover price still today.

What is the big deal with Spider-Gwen? I'm too young to care much about Gwen Stacy she died (and yes I read that story in TPB) before I was born. Honestly she wasn't that interesting of a character to begin with and her death is and was the ONLY thing she's known for.

If it was Spider-MJ then maybe I would care.

Gwen has always seemed to be beloved. That said, there's an awful lot being said about this book on the internet right now. It seems to be lightning caught in a bottle.

Gwen Stacy is quite possibly my favorite Spider-Man supporting character. I'm really interested in the Spider-Gwen stuff.
