Re: Defiant Comics prices
Looks like it's not the poster, but the actual six cardstock pieces.
The description says there is a poster (probably single sheet, flimsy), but these are heavier and separate.

Was thinking the same, just wanted to check the size. Have not found mine yet. Can you see if the size mentioned in the auction seems correct?greg wrote:Looks like it's not the poster, but the actual six cardstock pieces.

Re: Defiant Comics prices
Yeah, it says it was released as six separate panels, so it wasn't a poster per se.
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

Throwing my towel in:
I just purchased the Plasm 0 card-binder, fully stocked, on eBay for $15. Partly out of morbid curiosity and partly because to heal the inner 12 year-old who couldn't afford to buy a box of 150 cards in the hopes that I *might* be able to fill the binder. Even at 12 Jim Shooter's desperate attempts at trying to make money off of me by randomizing the comic buying process was totally transparent.
Speaking of which: Does anyone actually like him? I never see anything positive about Shooter. I can't imagine he's too popular here after scuppering the VEI reboot of Magnus, Solar et al.
Haven't read it yet, but I am looking forward to it.

Have you read other issues of Plasm?

I will always have a spot for Shooter. He got me into comics while I was in college with Magnus #2.
I liked Defiant, I even liked some of Broadway.
I am VERY glad for the way VEI has developed.

Re: Defiant Comics prices
Same here. I got to meet Jim Shooter a few years ago... it was awesome.
When he decided he didn't want to keep working for a couple of young guys trying to re-start Valiant, he did so based on a lifetime of experience in the industry.
When comic shop owners told us they didn't figure Valiant would last six months, they did so based on a lifetime of experience in the industry.
There's no substitute for experience, but that doesn't mean experienced people can't be shown something new.

I have not read any Plasm since 93, but I'm looking forward to giving them a wheel.StarBrand wrote:Have you read other issues of Plasm?
Also: Good to know about Shooter. I didn't really have an opinion of him, but throughout the years he seems to be controversial. Can't fault him completely I suppose.

Re: Defiant Comics prices
If you're talking about creators he worked with then yeah he's pretty controversial some like him, some hate him and in some cases both at the same time. He's guy if you asked 6 people who worked with him at Marvel, Valiant, Defiant, or Broadway chances are you get 24 different opinions ranging from that he's a misunderstood genius to an no-good-SOB and all points in between.jmh722 wrote:I have not read any Plasm since 93, but I'm looking forward to giving them a wheel.StarBrand wrote:Have you read other issues of Plasm?

Know this: I would rather be hated for being honest for my opinions, than being loved as a liar!

Anyone know off hand who now owns the rights to Plasm? How cool would it be to bring that Shooter property over to Valiant? Classic Media?

I think that is right. Classic Media ended up with the Defiant and Broadway properties.zlovemojo wrote:Anyone know off hand who now owns the rights to Plasm? How cool would it be to bring that Shooter property over to Valiant? Classic Media?

Re: Defiant Comics prices
So then DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. bought Classic Media. Good news potentially for a Plasm/Dark Dominion film, not necessarily great news for the likelihood of a sale to Valiant.
