A note from John Taddeo... with an interesting attachment!
I got this note from John Taddeo today...
He gave me the 'ok' to share with you guys and gal(s):
-------------------------------------------
ZOOM SUIT PREVIEW w/ BOB LAYTON ONLINE
I was talking to Bob Layton yesterday,
we have an animated project called ZOOM SUIT
that we are working on with Bart Sears and Billy Dallas Patton.
Gene Colon and Bill Tucci are going to do some covers as well.
I was saying to Bob that even though my favorite character is Superman
and my favorite comic book is Spider-Man, I really enjoyed the Valiant comics
in the early nineties. I remember because I was working for Marvel
at the time they came about and we didn't get them free.
We received every Marvel and every DC, but no Valiants.
"I'd really get excited about bringing back X-O and a few other titles".
Bob sent me this a few hours later.

with the email . . .
"If you get it, I'm on it."
I love Bob, and I think this image (made entirely "just for fun") is great . . .
. . .but I think he may have just jinxed me.
If you want to see our ZOOM SUIT 9 minute preview go to
www.superverse.com and select ZOOM SUIT PREVIEW.

What an unexpected way to start off a dreary Monday morning!

I'm a little lost, but do I read the Taddeo email as implying that either he or his company are trying to buy the rights to the Valiant characters? Excuse my ignorace, but is he associated with a current comic publisher (I confess I don't know who John Taddeo is)?
Thanks!

I believe we can safely guess that he is still interested in acquiring the
Valiant characters from the Acclaim bankruptcy.

so disney bought crossgen? holy crap!
now i know why justin wanted all those crossgen books! lol...j/k!
i think that's a good move for them...i could see meridian easily as a cartoon property on tv.
i was always on alesi to buy the valiant characters, we had a thread going on the crossgen board asking him to buy one character from valiant/acclaim...and base his decisons off the performance of that one book. he had so many of the old valiant creators there, they already had a first hand knowledge of the characters (sears, ryder, marz, bedard, etc.).
i hate things didn't work out for crossgen, i think they just overextended themselves and tried to get into too many things too quickly.
a lesson for the future perhaps...

This just shows you Bob Layton still kicks *SQUEE*. That really would be a great cover for a X-O relaunch.

I wonder if they meant to say "Stalked" instead of "Stocked" in the headline?
