Unity 3D cover distribution problem

Post by bobby97801 »

Has anyone else found these at their shop even if it was not supposed to be there? My shop ordered 200 regular copies and only sold 5. He returned 195 and he received 3 copies of the 3D variant. What happened? :?

If I had to guess, he got one for qualifying orders (even if he returned none), then he got two for the ones that somebody didn't know he returned.

I have two local shops that both received a copy.

One did not qualify for the book. Did not order 100 copies and did not order more than his XO Manowar #1 Order.

The other ordered 100 and returned 70.

It seems that all stores got a copy regardless of previously stated incentives. Though I wouldn't blame Valiant on this since it's Diamond who distributes the books, and it's not the first time they've messed up distributing incentives.

Hmmm.. wow, I wonder if my comic shop got at least 2 then. He ordered 200 but did end up returning a bunch.

BTW, There is a TON of them on EBAY right now.

3 went to auction and one just sold at auction for only 51 bucks.

The prices of these are dropping dramatically ...

I felt like a got a good deal (69 bucks with free shipping) but thats already looking like an overpay

Now, I feel like I need to visit my LCS today. Unfortunately, I have a basketball game to go to. I'll have to wait until Friday. :hope:

The Diamond truck had a problem and all of Calgary did not get books today, maybe tomorrow.

If I don't get one of these babies I will be apoplectic :!:

eBay appears to be flooded with them. Think you could easily get one for ~$50-60 bucks right now, but looks like this is probably a ~$20 book down the road.

Why would their dog need one? Are you sure it's a dog and not Toyo? :kidaround:

At $25 I would still buy them. I think right now it's flooded there because there was mistakes made. I still feel it's a very cool cover and I think it has a lot of long-term collectibility. I would maybe equate this more towards the BATMAN 608 RRP. Cause when they first came out a lot of people passed on but they still get $1800 now. That's just my two cents worth. If you buy it for 25 I'll happily buy it from you for that price plus shipping.

They had one at my LCS and I highly highly doubt they ordered or returned anything to qualify. The girl at the counter seemed a bit mystified as to why they received a copy because they don't really order or sell a lot of Valiant. The shop owner's asking price was $135 and I politely declined.

YOU...B@STARD!!

It was you who who got that Diamond truck driver drunk in Saskatoon...or was it Canadian Dunlow :hm:

He does live behind a dumpster in Saskatoon and is rather comely to truck drivers, I can see it happening.

You really need to control that thing before you spark an international incident (I know we're just Canada but still,eh?).

Wow. Price really bottom out on these. I wonder how retailers feel about that?
Now they're stuck with hundreds of unsold Unity #1s and a variant worth less than $50.00

My LCS received a copy and offered to sell it to me for 40. I decided to go for it (though that's pretty much my comic money for the next two weeks...lol)
The "Unity Suite" ... in progress ...
