This was a smart move. If any other dealers are looking to make a sale, Im looking for a Unity 3D as well.

In addition to this thread, as you read through some of the other threads as well and look for shop owners. They are good to message direct, and IF they haven't yet sold their copy, you might find a sweet deal to be made.Timewalker-Ben wrote:This was a smart move. I am working on something but can not take orders or make any promises till I know if and when I may get any extra copies. I wish the eBay auction was put up a week earlier, before the return deadline. I would have been able to keep 300 more copies and sell 3 more variants.

As always, Ed is trying to deliver! He's awesome!
(I am interested, but just can't afford $200+ for a single comic)

Chris I know it is a lot but that is the real cost for a store to get multiple copies. Return 100 books.

Re: WTB Unity #1 3-D cover (Re-Opened for others)
I know huh.... Didn't Valiant Federal Expressed the book to the UK then was listed ASAP. (after the unboxing and documentation)
Seems like the timing was purposefully planed before the return deadline.
Also, the winning bid was very unpredictable since it was the first Unity 3D book.
Will be very interesting what these books will go for in the near future.

I understand complete that there is a real cost. You can make $200 by returning the books, or you can make the same by selling this book. Especially given what I see you are doing with all the un-returned copies you now kept!

Anyone know what the actual release date for these books is? The LCS I'm buying my copy from contacted Diamond about the two copies they expected to receive today. Diamond told them that it won't be released until the 26th.

My LCS called me to tell me they were getting one and were gonna hold it for me. We still haven't talked price, but if I pass I'll give you guys his contact info.
Although with the book now available for $125, it's moving into the realm where I may consider buying it.

2 more days until other shops get their copies. Will be interesting to see how many copies hit eBay in a few days.

Re: WTB Unity #1 3-D cover (Re-Opened for others)
I got mine also from Ed, though I see it differently than most. For me, there is slightly more value in dealing with a supportive Shop like Paradise, and fell the $200 I paid was WELL worth it. He does much for our community, and supports the out of VEI. So for me at least, paying a bit more does a dew things: it 1.) helps the overall value stay (slightly) higher than it would had we NOT bought at a higher price, 2.) it supports Collector's Paradise, and 3.) in doing so, it supports VEI.nycjadie wrote:Yikes! Makes the price I paid Collector's Paradise look very expensive!
A distant 4.) is that I get the book I wanted, feel good about it, and do what I love: collecting Valiant.
I'm not the best investor and/or seller in the world, but I am a BIG fan and collector!

Re: WTB Unity #1 3-D cover (Re-Opened for others)
The larger piece in my mind was that Ed was very clear about his costs associated with unity 1 3D. He told everyone ahead of time that his copies needed to be priced at 200 for it to make business sense to keep the unsold unity 1s. He even admitted that others might sell them for less, but his price was 200. No one should feel bad about buying the book from Ed. In fact i appreciate how open and honest Ed has been in regarding this particular book nDirtbagSailor wrote:I got mine also from Ed, though I see it differently than most. Re: WTB Unity #1 3-D cover (Re-Opened for others)
I didn't mean to sound complaining. I'm a big fan and customer of Ed's. It was my inartful attempt to point out the extremes of the market. If these get down below $100, I might buy another and figure they will even out. That's what I did with the Unity Red (I paid $40 for the first, and $15 for the last! Plus all free copies from the VFans projects!).
Best,
Steve
