New themes in Shadowman
Since Shadowman has been a roller coaster ride of compressed story telling introducing and finishing stuff which should have been introduced over like 25 issues into 10 books it failed to look at the small things like the nature of the Loa and the relationship between Shadowman and the town of New Orleans etc. What are some of the larger themes you guys want to see in the title moving forward with the new creative team of Milligan and De La Torre??
For me the two primary things are the subjects i mentioned above and the nature of the relationship between the Shadowman and the people of New Orleans.I would like to see most of the older people knowing about Shadowman and understand him as a part of the town and consider him like the sheriff to solve their supernatural problems while the younger generation are worried about his presence in the town...
Thoughts and suggestions???

Re: New themes in Shadowman
That's a very interesting take and I wouldn't mind seeing that as well. Since the Shadowman is a generational thing that has been passed down for many years, I could see it being commented on by those 'in the know' that the Shadowman has returned after being gone for nearly 20 years. The youth growing up wouldn't have heard of him at all unless they had a family member who was into telling stories.Manaf82 wrote:Since Shadowman has been a roller coaster ride of compressed story telling introducing and finishing stuff which should have been introduced over like 25 issues into 10 books it failed to look at the small things like the nature of the Loa and the relationship between Shadowman and the town of New Orleans etc. What are some of the larger themes you guys want to see in the title moving forward with the new creative team of Milligan and De La Torre??

I want to learn what his powers are. I never read the original Shadowman, and the new series has completely dropped the ball on that front. All I know is he travels to the deadside and swings a scythe around.

That's a very valid point.NapoleonBlownapart wrote:I want to learn what his powers are. I never read the original Shadowman, and the new series has completely dropped the ball on that front. All I know is he travels to the deadside and swings a scythe around.

Re: New themes in Shadowman
Too true. Darque mentioned something about him being immune to magic in issue #9, and back in #1 Darque alludes that the Shadowman can be killed during the day. But nothing substantial.NapoleonBlownapart wrote:I want to learn what his powers are. I never read the original Shadowman, and the new series has completely dropped the ball on that front.
