Deathmate Yellow or Deathmate Yellow Gold?

Post by YourPlace2 »

How does one tell the difference in these Deathmates? I just sold one as GOLD, and want to make sure it is the Gold issue.

Can anyone help?

They're both chromey, but the yellow isn't as deep/dark a color as the gold. To be 100%, you could compare it to another gold book. Once you've seen both the yellow and the gold though, you'll just know from then on!

Hope this helps!

This is a tough one to judge unless you have other copies around.
(Or unless you've seen a few dozen already.)

The gold issue is identical to all other Deathmate golds,
sort of orangey-gold, while the regular yellow version
looks almost greenish-yellow. (Just slightly green, but not orange.)

I believe that the gold is truly gold foil, so you might compare it
to a gold ring, if you wear one.

Thanks. I have only 1 copy, and looking at pictures of both online, and on your site, the GOLD version's Yellow is brighter than the regular issue. Is this correct?

The copy I have is very yellow and shiny.

That's probably a problem with the scanner.
The regular yellow version is very bright, too...
so it's really tough to tell them apart.

You may have to do your best "yellow/green" vs. "yellow/orange" estimate.

I just noticed that the Deathmate golds have a price on them.
The other Valiant golds don't have prices on them. Except EW #1 non-embossed and A&A.
But anyway, you will notice the difference. The yellow is like a neon yellow.

Unfortunately, so do the regular Deathmates.
I can't tell the difference with just once Yellow book.
Thanks all. I'll keep trying to find out.

The good thing is that even if a person accidently sells a Gold Yellow as a regular to somebody, you are only out 5 or 6 bucks. You can't really say that with the any of the other Valiant Golds books.
