I am cleaning my house out entirely... removing, sorting, disposing... making room. I got 10 garbage bags of junk to throw out today. I split with my girl and she left a pile of junk for me to go through plus a pallet's worth of stuff to ship 1,000 miles away.

I stumbled upon these. The CEARs I got from the VALIANT Gold Room and it went straight into a bag and board. The Changs came from the gold room too, I asked Layton to sign a handful. Good thing I didn't have him sign the CEAR, right?

These are worth a slab.

To go by the rules of the auction, it ends at 9 PM EST... do we all agree that this means "at the stroke of" 9 PM? Kinda like in Westerns- they meet at high noon... when the clock strikes noon, it's time to draw and fire.

Using that as a guide, and assuming Aram is okay with this, the last valid bid was JMatt's.

Ae we all happy with this? Should we get Greg involved?

I'm not happy with it, but it's your sale and your rules to make. By your analogy, I think I made my draw at $5 over at the sound of the clock, since clock do not strike at 59 seconds but start at that moment and continue on until completed. I kept firing. So I think it's a question of who runs out of ammo first.

My interpretation is that if something ends at 9pm, then at the stroke between 8:59 and 9:00, it's over. Otherwise, you'd say it was over at 9:01.

Happy New Year! isn't celebrated at 12:01.

I mean no offense to anyone, I'm just rather upset over this because honestly my view is that sniping in the auctions here is not something in the spirit of this community as I have come to know it. There is no time limit on a auction house, the bids go until the last person has had 3 chances for another to raise. Going once, going twice, etc.

I think I made it pretty clear I was in this big time by my first bid and when the first bidder finally outbid me I contacted them to see what they wanted out of this and how we could help each other. We came together to ensure we had the best chances of winning this and I even PMed Joe to ensure clarification on the Rules (if it was "by Gregs clock" as stated which is 1 hour behind or EST) Either way I wanted clarification in case I was out bid. Joe did not read my message until the action was over.

I came to check at the last 2 minutes to make sure I had not been outbid and saw that a bid was made 1 minute earlier. I immediately posted a raise to ensure I was on record and then also immediately responded again with another post to state that I would top anyones bid by $5. While I was typing the second message, I saw your bid had posted, clicked send and it posted at the 8:00 mark.

I think I have a fair compromise for everyone involved, I'll pm you the details.
