Harbinger Patches for Books

Post by Sir Sandrick »

Hey Everyone,

We just got the blessing from Dinesh to start a project that Jay and I have been working on!

Basically, Jay and I wanted to create patches for our jackets before SDCC. After researching a bit, we found that buying a group of 50 patches was only slightly more expensive than getting only 10. So, now we have 40 patches (saving ten for our own use) that we needed to find a use for...

That is how we came up with the idea of selling these additional patches while at SDCC as well as on the forums. Each patch will be $10 and we will then put ALL of the money towards buying Harbinger: Omega rising trades and getting these out to libraries. That is 40 books to hopefully reach some new readership!

I will have 20 or so patches with me today at the con and I will leave 20 at home for forum members exclusively. Actually, there are only 19 more available at the con because Dinesh already bought the first one! I will also have whatever is left at the panel on Saturday night.

I will be checking this post again tonight to answer any questions anyone has. Otherwise, if you are interested in purchasing one I will be taking orders through paypal.

To get on the list for the forum 20, just send me an email at sandersfabares@gmail.com -it will be first come-first served for whomever emails me with their address information. Payments will all be via paypal.

Here is the all important sample pic-we will post some more soon via our twitter accts @sandman4j @wootjay

Image

I hope to see many more Harbingers at the con!

What a day!

We just got back from the the con and I wanted to give an update on the emails that I have received regarding the patches so far. Here are who has written to me at sandersfabares@gmail.com so far to say that they would like one. Greg generously says that he would be willing to buy up to 5 total if there are any leftovers at the end of the weekend, and right now there are 5 left.

I also have 15 left that I will be selling at SDCC over the next few days and at the Valiant panel, but if there are any left overs from that I will be sure to let you know that as well! If there is still more interest, I think that it would be cool to do a red variant too... Maybe for some Bloodshot trades?

Again, I just want to reiterate that ALL of the sales from these patches go directly towards buying the Omega Rising trades and getting them into libraries. We will also stamp the abbreviated name of everyone that buys a patch into one of the donated books, after all it is you guys that are helping to make this possible, right? We will take a picture of the stamped books once we have them and let you know the libraries that we get them to.

I think that you will all really like the patches. They have really nice embroidery, an iron on backing that bonds like crazy when steamed, and they are relatively thin, so they don't droop on clothing with weight. I know when we saw them we were pretty blown away!

So here is who has sent me an email so far:

Greg H.
Magnus R.
Jonathan S.
Bobby M.
Clive J.
Chris A.
Christopher S. C.
Amy O.
Jason S. (wants 2)
Eric H.
James B.
Chris K. B.
Eric D.
Pete H.

So you guys above are locked in for patches. As soon as the con/craziness is over I will be emailing you to confirm your mailing addresses and give you my paypal account info. I should then be able to get these sent off within the week. Oh yeah, I will be checking on the international shipping rates next week as well, but it doesn't look like it will be too bad since the patch is pretty light.

I will be checking in again tomorrow if anyone has any questions. Thanks to everyone that has shown interest in this so far! This is our first time doing something like it, but it feels great to be giving something to our fellow fans while helping the company we all love reach some future fans!

-Sanders and Jay

Thanks! Originally I thought that it would be cool to use the sales to go toward the dollar books, but it was Jay's idea to put it toward the trades instead, thus getting them to libraries where they could reach more people.

And Bobby has just requested a second patch, so there are now just 4 left!
