They all are! Hard to believe people once thought this was the weakest of Valiant's lineup!

I LOVE this book! Ambrose Bierce! Archies! Turok?!?
So many great lines in here, too. FVLs dialogue is fantastic.
"Shut your word hole"
"Leggo my Egghead"
"Do you ever get tired of being wrong?"
"It's how the kids talk"
Great stuff.

"Bierce" sounds a lot like "Pierce".

Ambrose Bierce is/was a real person who disappeared under mysterious circumstances while exploring crystal caves...though the similarity is noted.bribri wrote:"Bierce" sounds a lot like "Pierce".

What a great issue. FVL just get's better and better with each one. Anticipating that by the time of Sect Civil War, we'll be unable to get through an issue without our brains melting. And I did not expect that ending! Old time Valiant fans should get a huge smile out of that one!

Question for VEI --- after Archer & Armstrong #11, how long until we see the Archer star t-shirt in the VEI store? It's needed... NOW.

Turok was not in there.swtor1091 wrote:Wow... That was incredible... Wow... Just... Wait my brain has to wrap around some *SQUEE* but where was turok.... Is he a n64 character why would he be in A&A
The tribe of Roanoke (Algonquin) natives in Archer & Armstrong #11 reminds fans of the old Valiant of the Turok situation from Unity (1992).
In the original Valiant, the "Lost Land" (similar to the Faraway) was where Turok was discovered.
Turok's history includes being a 1950s Dell comics character, a Gold Key character in the 1960s-1980s, and a Valiant comics character before becoming a video game character in the 1990s.
Turok currently belongs to the people who bought all the Dell properties, was last licensed to Dark Horse, and Valiant is not using Turok in the books.

The conversation between Redacted and Archer was priceless
"Ha! ... I thought you said butts"
"The way they do it ... its like an enema for the soul"
Pere Perez does another great job of capturing the funny moments - the way he draws the facial expressions is so perfect - it cracks me up.

This arc (including the #0 issue) is setting up to take over the top spot from Renegades. The last 3 issues have been SOOOOO good. Can't wait for Ivar to show up!erwinrafael wrote:Toldya this is the best VEI book.

This was the best issue of A&A to date, I love the look on Armstrong's face when he hears "Survivors will be probed"

An amazing issue all around.
Skymother is an adequate replacement for Mother-God, namewise. And the Archies... I guess my comment and about the keepers of the "timeless word" was wrong (I though it was supposed to have read "timeless world".)
The art was fantastic!

Re: Archer & Armstrong #11 Discussion
Really good issue. I like FVLs plotting, it is big but I am still not a fan of his dialog. Perez art is top notch, I love the Brady Bunch cover. This has been my favorite issue of the series and it is building towards some really big reveals. It's still got a ways to go before it scratches at my favorite VEI titles, but it's no longer my least favorite.
Archer's escape into free fall was handled nicely, though I am still not much of a fan of MM being possessed by her parents at the same time so I hope that resolves soon.

Re: Archer & Armstrong #11 Discussion
Yes this book rocks. Yes, it REEKS of Unity! Faraway, Sunmother, Pterosaurs, time travel, "local" tribe, etc.
Great reveal of the Archies, I know we were all thinking it was Ivar, or some iteration of the immortal brothers. Didn't pick up on it when Redacted called Archer a sage. Loved the fake "Truman Show" sun/base.
But now that we've seen time travel, RAI has to be worked in somehow.....
This title feels like the real lead in to Unity.
Also, on another note, anyone else notice Armstrong's eyes go white when he was healing himself? I obviously saw it in issue 4 when his eyes were healing, but only thought that was because it happened to be his eyes that he was healing, not that it happened whenever he used some of his "boon power?"
Fantastic issue. I read this after Harbinger Wars 4, and THIS is the issue I'm pumped about! Crazy!
