Bart Sears would've been awesome for X-O! Loved that Sean Chen cover though!

Cool idea. The Sean Chen and Bob Hall covers are my favorite. Interesting that EW is rocking some mitten boots and we finally get that Bloodshot's day off where he goes to the discotheque!

Re: New Valiant "Signature Series"........
The Shadowman and Eternal Warrior covers are awesome.
The Harbinger one is meh. The Bloodshot one is pretty horrible.
I wonder if these books are gonna come with the all-black backgrounds or not. I can already imagine how tough they will be to get high-grade copies if that's the case.

I can't imagine the CCO of Marvel doing something that would constitute a de-facto endorsement for a competing company, even if it is one that he used to be a major part of.BugsySig wrote:Or Joe Quesada?MarkRoseHFX wrote:couldn't get anybody appropriate to do it maybe?caniac wrote:Those look bad arse, but where is XO?

I believe they said they will either be pullbox or incentive covers of some kind, but nothing official yet.
Personally, I don't like any of them. Hall's Shadowman is holding the staff all wrong, Chen's Harbinger is bland, and the Bloodshot and EW covers are just not very good.

At the panel at Heroescon Hunter said the distribution hadn't been determined yet.
My only question is "Has anybody reached out to Bob or Barry?" They need to be a part of this.

Still probably better odds of getting him than BWS. I wouldn't bet on either though.NapoleonBlownapart wrote:I can't imagine the CCO of Marvel doing something that would constitute a de-facto endorsement for a competing company, even if it is one that he used to be a major part of.BugsySig wrote:Or Joe Quesada?MarkRoseHFX wrote:couldn't get anybody appropriate to do it maybe?caniac wrote:Those look bad arse, but where is XO?

I think getting Joe Q onboard would be a miracle, but Fred Pierce says that when they announced the X-O Hardcover, Joe called and asked him for a few comp copies. So clearly Joe hasn't forgotten where he came from. Fred says that all the folks from those days are still pretty close and on great terms, so it isn't entirely out of the question, but like i said....it'd probably be a miracle.MarkRoseHFX wrote:Still probably better odds of getting him than BWS. yeah for sure. And it would probably take more than some concert tickets to get Jim Lee to do one for H.A.R.D. Re: New Valiant "Signature Series"........
Marvel and Valiant did cross-overs in the 90's. There is nothing to say that can't or won't happen again.
Sub-question: would you prefer Valiant align themselves with DC or Marvel?
(in a world where those are the choices, of course...they could align with Dark Horse and ruin my poll entirely)

What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

Re: New Valiant "Signature Series"........
I think some kind of crossover like that could help Valiant as long as the focus remains on putting out a quality book instead of just a marketing gimmick. I'd be ok with any as long as that's the case.Zaphod wrote:Marvel and Valiant did cross-overs in the 90's. There is nothing to say that can't or won't happen again.
