Got up early this morning to get to Midtown Comics Times Square as early as possible to snag their edition. They opened at 8. There was already a line when I got there 8:30ish, and got into the store around 8:45. They pre-bag FCBD bundles. Got my bag and the Harbinger Wars FCBD book, but it was the regular edition. They said they didn't get their full order, but should have them by Wednesday. They didn't seem to have the Valiant Masters book.

Went to Jim Hanley's Universe, another fairly central store. Although they include the Valiant books on their checklist of FCBC books, they didn't have either one and didn't seem to know anything about it.

Dropped in at work to get some work finished and order both books from Midtown when their orders go live at 11am. Then hitting Forbidden Planet, and the Midtown Comics Grand Central.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Try doing a search in the search bar for 'fcbd 2013'. I had to do that when nothing was showing up on the FCBD page.

Ditto. :thumb: Searching by "Harbinger Wars" will give you a narrower search for the book. :)

First store I went to had picnic tables set up outside with the books. But would only allow you to pick 5. They had the Valiant books but no #1 dollar issues. So after there went to another store. That store let you grab one of whatever you want. It also had the #1 dollar books. One copy of each on the shelf. I didn't get any as there was only one copy and my hope is some new reader will try the books and become a fan.

Went to StarClipper in St. Louis. Great turnout! Path to the free stuff took us past their display racks. Best as I can tell, they had many back issues from the past couple months, but they looked sold out on the most recent issues of everything. No Shadowman #0, plenty of Harbinger Wars #2 available. They also had the Archer & Armstrong trade, as well as the $1 Issues, on their specialty "check it out" display. Nice to see the love!
Good Morning, that's a nice tnetennba.

Went to Golden Eagle Comics in Reading, PA. First time I've been in a comic shop in months. Immediately bypassed the free books as there were bargain bins that needed to be gone through. The regular .25 books were 10 for a $1 while the normally 75 cent overstock books were 5 for $2. I haven't been keeping up with the new Valiant books, so this was a good chance to get some on the cheap. Picked up copies of Archer & Armstrong #1 2nd print and #3 and Bloodshot #3 and two copies of #4 (two different covers, I assume they are still doing the regular and pullbox versions) from the overstock boxes. Checked their regular current issue books and they seem pretty well stocked on Valiants. Paid less than $6 for 20 comics, then headed over to the free comics. I knew I needed to pick up an Archie for the wife, saw it was an Archie Digest. Then I saw there were two different Valiant free books! Didn't know anything about the Masters book as I've only been reading posts here sporadically. The store allows you two free books. Any in addition to that, you pay 50 cents each and the money goes to a local library. I had three and didn't want to ask the lady for change, so I also took the Walking Dead FCBD book, haven't read the series in a long time, so it will be interesting to see where they are now.

Went out with my 3 yo son today for his second FCBD.

Went to my local store first, picked up Harby Wars 1 & 2 and Harby and Shadowman #0 (I only read digital monthlies, but figured I'd throw the store some dough). Picked up the two VALIANT FCBD books and TWD, but he'd only give me one more for my little guy, so I headed to another store about 20 min away. They had the full deal: balloons outside, cake and cookies for customers and some very good sales. Picked up a few trades for 50% off and grabbed a bunch of the all ages books (they had all the books out on the counter to take as you pleased).

So a pretty decent day all around.

Oh, and RAI is the next Masters Edition after Eternal Warrior! Awesome. Can't wait to get my hands on that.

ATOMIC COMICS (Shirley, NY) for the win! Mac, the store owner (he is a board member and has been featured here), had all the free comics laid out beautifully, they had copy's of the Valiantfans exclusive book, which were put into ever bag!

End of the day walked away with my free Valiant, Valiant Masters and Valiantfans books, what a good day! :high-five:

4 for me. (See my earlier post about Midtown Comics Times Square and Jim Hanley's Universe.) After I got done what I needed to do at work (around noon), I headed downtown to Forbidden Planet, and they only had The Walking Dead and Last Son of Krypton as far as books for adults. (They had separate packs with kids books, which they would only give out to kids, so that's kind of cool.) Then to Midtown Comics Grand Central, which only had the 3 branded books left (Last Son of Krypton, Infinity, and Harbinger Wars). So I got my Midtown-branded edition from Grand Central, and the regular edition from Times Square, but no Valiant Masters. I did order it through Midtown online by searching for it.

Man, No Valiant Masters for me.. I checked Midtown and its 40 bucks to ship a Free Comic to Canada! Score!

If anyone can help me out with that one, plus no ValiantFans Variant for me since Nonplayer didn't drop them off at my LCS, which is cool.

What kind of reprint material is in the Valiant Masters FCBD issue?

My shop had a 5 book limit and didn't notice the BarryWindsor cover art on it till I left.

No limits on my store. Got two Valiants, two TWD, Bongo, Mouse Guard, Grimm, TMNT, and a few for my little one. Also picked up the 2012 FCBD Mouse Guard HC....they have like 5 left so I will clean him out over time. They didn't have the Valiant Masters but I knew that going in. Got my Planet Comics Valiant issue in today. Ordered both Valiant FCBD books along with the 5 pack $1 issues. This FCBD rocked :headbang:

Sadly nothing. Three kicks at the can and nothing outside of kid specific stuff and Walking Dead (Which I don't care for). I did grab the Volume One trades for Shadowman and Archer and Armstrong however.

Luckily, my LCS placed one copy each of the Valiant FCBD books in my subscription pull. I went to 3 stores total and I found 2 more Valiant Masters FCBD books. I also bought 4 out of 5 Dollar Buys #1. The X-O copies looked like they had been folded in half, so I passed on them.

I have a awesome LCS. I couldn't make it today because my son had a double header for baseball, one scheduled, one make up. I'm also the coach.
I get home and he left message to let me know he put aside both Valiant books for me and the Sponge Bob and TMNT books for my son. :thumb:

No Valiant Masters at my store but if anyone needs the Harbinger Wars FCBD comic, I've got an extra.

My local shop turned FCBD into a mini festival -- live bands and at least half a dozen creators signing books and doing sketches.
