CGC X-O Printing error
So I saw this today and I am sorry if I missed this being discussed, I know there are tons of Ivory discussions.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261146204708?ss ... 1423.l2649
The price is ridiculous and he is advertising it as a gold, but how long has CGC been marking these as a printing error?

Re: CGC X-O Printing error
I aware of both of the above statements.......I just did not know CGC was marking them different now.

Re: CGC X-O Printing error
You can find old threads where we (well, at least --I--) lament CGCs decision to call these out as printing errors. They made this decision a long time ago and this "variant" even appears on a few registry sets, I believe.

Re: CGC X-O Printing error
I searched through the first few pages of discussions but only saw the stuff that I had read before........was only curious about the CGC stuff....
CGC census is showing 23 of these graded so I guess they have been doing it for a bit.

I hope it's worth $600 because I have like five of them.

I think if you include "ivory" in your search terms you might turn up a few more threads. We were calling it a XO 0 ivory.zoso20 wrote:I searched through the first few pages of discussions but only saw the stuff that I had read before........was only curious about the CGC stuff....

Re: CGC X-O Printing error
Despite my best efforts to avoid making a "big deal" out of these books...
it's obvious that some ebay sellers are trying to take advantage of buyers.
As a result, I will need to put an information page on the ValiantFan.com website about these "error editions".
Hopefully, by adding information to the site, and possibly a fair market value in the price guide, people will at least have the opportunity to make an informed decision.

Re: CGC X-O Printing error
I'm tempted to use the "Make Offer" option and offer $1, but I don't want to get stuck paying $11.50 in shipping if it's accepted.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Re: CGC X-O Printing error

I have about 20 of these. I hope this guy gets $600.00. I will be fast tracking mine to CGC the day he does!

Also, about the very rare part, don't most people who are about to spend $600.00 on a comic have an idea about how rare it is?

That's why I usually just don't put that in my descriptions even if it is rare. How rare is something that turns up 50+ results in a search?

Re: CGC X-O Printing error
Yeah, when I'm looking at ebay auctions and see the word "rare", I move on; the seller is looking for suckers. Any buyer who would spend decent coin on a book already knows how "rare" it is.nutflush76 wrote:![]()

Sometimes, just for good measure, I'll ask the seller a loaded "question" pointing out that the item is not rare. That then becomes a part of the auction record that any potential buyer can see.
