Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
I haven't been posting on here much lately but this news has given me a kick! As a fan of Green Lantern i'm glad to see Venditti get the gig, but could it pull him away from XO? I know he's already got a few assignments, but as both GL and XO are cosmic heroes DC may not like the overlap.

I hope he stays on X-O too, the book has been great!

Re: Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
I just saw this. He is doing 3 of my favorite titles XO, Demon Knights, and GL
At least I hope he will be doing all 3...

Re: Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
Also Justin Jordan and Bernard Chang doing GL work as well.

Re: Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
Isn't he doing the upcoming 'Constantine' title as well, when that gets pulled from Vertigo into the New52? A Busy guy, our V-Ditty. [He'll always be 'our guy' no matter how much work he does elsewhere

He is writing Demon Knights but I don't think he is writing Constantine?
I am disappointed he is going to write GL. I just dropped that book and now I have to un-drop it.

I thought he had mentioned he was going to be on Constantine a few months back. Has this changed?Chiclo wrote:He is writing Demon Knights but I don't think he is writing Constantine?

Great! That can only mean more exposure for X-O if his GL is good.

In a classic DC switcheroo... Still time for GL to change.Dr. Solar wrote:Yes.lorddunlow wrote:I thought he had mentioned he was going to be on Constantine a few months back. Has this changed?Chiclo wrote:He is writing Demon Knights but I don't think he is writing Constantine?

I'll definitely be giving it a shot (and the Larfleeze book by Giffen). I loved GL up to an after Blackest Night but it seemed to be going back around in circles after Flashpoint.

Re: Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
I don't like this.
2 of the top tier creative talent's that Valiant has working on it's books are going to DC to work on a high profile character. This scares me since DC may try to sign them to exclusive deals, especially if they do a good job and the book maintains it's fan base I would hate to see DC scoop up these amazing creators and leave Valiant with nothing.
Consider me miffed.

Re: Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
V-ditti is firing on all cylinders on X-O Manowar and I hope he keeps writing the book for at least another year or two BUT if Valiant loses him to DC, one thing I trust Dino and crew to do is to find top-notch writers. They would land on their feet, that is for sure.manga4life wrote:I don't like this.

Re: Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!
I hope he stays as long as possible as well, but unless VEI can sign them to exclusive contracts (or whatever kind of contract) then there isn't anything that can be done about it. Even with a contract, nothing is forever (Edit: haha, I'm the immortal enemy now!).
I hope to see Venditti on X-O, and Dysart on Harbinger, and all the rest for a long time to come. But eventually the reins will be handed over to someone new. I choose to enjoy what we have while we have it and worry about changes when the time comes. No use borrowing trouble.
