I loved that he was such a jerk. I'd use stronger words - but jerk works here. I'd read that he was created specifically to BE killed. That seemed to be interesting. I also thought he was a large source of much of the conflict in those new X-Men at the time - and led to so much conflict following it.
All in really, three comics. Giant Size 1, 94, and 95.
Not bad for a native American - and a jerk, to boot.

Thanos
Magneto
Doctor Doom
the Juggernaut
She-Hulk
Madrox
the Hulk
Groot
Squirrel Girl
Fantomex
Moonstone (not sure if she is a villain or a hero)
Random
Strong Guy
Sue Storm
Kang
This list made me realize how I am becoming less emotionally invested in the Marvel universe over the years. It also made me realize that I think Captain America might belong on the villain list now?

Totally agree. I haven't read any Marvel title in years, and only a small handful of books. But reading the old stuff has been great. Really living in the Silver Age crossover to Bronze now. Some of the best comic moments. The only real title I read since about 1993 was Black Panther, WAY after publication, and only due to the Quantum Woody Christopher Priest connection.

Re: Your Top 15 Favorite Marvel Heroes of all time?
He is violently opposing heroes with motives that one might describe as megalomaniacal. In AvX, he was telling the X-Men to take a knee and do what he told them to do and when they didn't stand down, he started a war. The X-Men were defending one of their own. Now he is doing the exact same thing to the Punisher because he would not fall in line. Captain America is somewhere between a demagogue and a tyrant and if you don't toe the Captain America line he will throw the Avengers at you.Lightning Strike wrote:Chiclo wrote:Huh? Re: Your Top 15 Favorite Marvel Heroes of all time?
IMO, that's just current bad writing on Marvel's part. I remember waaaay back when Cap once told Wolverine that the Avengers would NEVER allow him to be a member and look at him now. Re: Your Top 15 Favorite Marvel Heroes of all time?
You know, honestly, I feel the same way and I'm not sure it's a bad thing. I have spent a lot of time emotionally invested in certain characters, only to have changes happen that I don't like and becoming alienated. Just like the New 52. I'm sure (despite everything I've read) that there are some brilliant books being published, but I am so attached to those characters that I grew up with there's no way I can enjoy them so I don;t read them.kevinbastos wrote:Chiclo wrote:

With Marvel, I'm not invested in many of those characters at all so I'm able to just enjoy the stories for what they are.
