My 1st Valiant Comic
In the early 90's I was in my early teens and had a group of friends who where heavily into comics. We all had pretty common taste in comics. Our whole group followed all of the X-books ,but every now and then someone would branch off into something different. Usually we get together on the weekends and would wheel and deal when it came to comics. During one of these times i discovered My first Valiant Comic which was the flip-book Magnus Robot Fighter #5 / Rai #1. One of my friends had gotten a couple. It was great. He wasn't open to trading any of them so I had to find them. I remember really liking the character of Rai. I was also buying Wizard the Guide To Comics around this time and read some articles about Valiant. I saw the potential in this new comic book universe. Although I was a Marvel guy I wasn't old enough to have any of the early issues of any Marvel books. To me I had just witnessed the big bang of the Valiant universe. Then came the Rai monthly, followed by X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Archer and Armstrong, Shadowman, Eternal Warrior and Bloodshot. Sadly there came a time when the quality of the Valiant books was noticeably dropping off. I stopped buying 6 or 7 months after the Unity crossover disappointed of what could have been.
Fast forward to a couple of months before Valiant relaunch I basically re bought my favorite Valiant comics. This website was very helpful because of the cover database. So, I could see the issues I was missing and when the volumes had ended. Some of names I've seen on the message boards looks similar to eBay names I have made purchases from. I would like to say thanks to all.
I currently have every issued of the new, dare i say it (Ultimate) Valiant Entertainment Comics. In my opinion new books have been awesome and better then the originals. I even manage to get friends of mine who where out of comics to jump back in with Valiant. The biggest compliment I can give Valiant is that their books are the first ones I read when I read my weekly comic books.
Thanks.

Re: My 1st Valiant Comic
My first Valiant Comic was Solar: Man of the Atom #13. I bought it because the guy at the comic book store said I could sell it in a few years and put my kids through college.
