XO 6 Zircher variant

Can anyone confirm the definite print ratio of the Zircher variant to XO 6 which is out today? I thought it was going to be a hard to get 1:50 but my LCS had dozens on the shelf for cover price. Have they made a glorious mistake or am I wishful thinking?

On the downside they didn’t have the new prints of A&A or Harbinger.

If your shop had dozens, that could be a Diamond error... or something could have changed on the ratio.

Definately Zircher. It may be a UK thing - ive just done a quick scan of ebay and seen that UK sellers have it a lot cheaper than US ones.

Anyone awake in the US yet to let us know what your stores have?

Most US stores won't open for anywhere from 1 to 5 hours from now.

I've done just that! Now hoping that I havent made an expensive mistake...

It's a very strange situation. It's probably worth the gamble... there is one U.S. seller on Ebay with 100 copies.

(If you change the quantity to 101, it will tell you that's too high.)

That could be an indication that something is wrong in the U.S. as well, but other U.S. sellers seem to confirm the book is 1:50.
The seller with 100 for sale has always been a big Valiant supporter, so I don't know if they really ordered 5,000 copies (1:50) or not.

Interesting, me and a friend got this as it was the one that was out... got to the counter and had massive bills which confused the hell out of us.

£17 for a different cover, *SQUEE* ridiculous.

Was that Forbidden Planet? The London branch had 1 copy on the wall for £17 and only one copy of the design variant left on the shelf for cover price.

I think you are right. I mean there is just crazy for IC to order 5000 copies of XO Manowar #6.

If these were not line wide Variants. These books are going to be less than 350 earned copies with the sales trend.

Or maybe these were originally not line wide and VEI decided to make it a line wide variant because the have made too many copies made. If that's the case the the 1:50 will have an earned estimate of 1,400 copies earned.

Definitely something happened. I am not at the stores on daily basis, my guys called me to tell me we got extras, so I opened a thread to sell some to members yesterday, and then this morning got a call from my manager saying we got more than a few extras, a lot of extras. So I pulled the thread for now to figure out what is going on.

BTW, love the cover, already one of my favorites from VEI so far.

Oh dear. I wonder what the repercussions might be if it turns out Valiant accidentally printed too many? That might upset many of the early buyers that overpaid, but I guess that's no different than those who overpaid for the X-O QR early on.

The Hastings Entertainment store I get my comics from had two copies
of the Zircher variant this morning. They rarely get the 1:20 variants let alone the 1:50.
Something is definitely up with this book!

if it is found out that these went out as regular cover Bs, any ethical seller will return the money to the buyer. I am glad I did not take any money last night yet, made it easier to put a stop to this for now.

Strange, I had the Zircher cover waiting for me too, no sign of the Xo Design variant to be found.

Something is off. Went to pick up my books, and instead of the X-O Character design pullbox variant I had the Zircher cover waiting for me. Anyone found the X-O Character Design variant? Something is telling me these two got switched at the distributor level maybe.

Wouldn't there have to be a printing error for there to be so many of these showing up? They wouldn't print the same number of each cover and trust Diamond or somebody to only ship the Zircher to those that qualify, would they? Maybe the design cover got shorted and the Zircher over-printed?

A part of me actually hopes that's what happened (they mixed up the 1:50 and the pullbox), because I really like the cover, I just don't want to pay the premium for it.

I just hope whatever the issue is with this, Valiant is able to figure it out and fix it for everyone.

If that were true, they would have sold it as the 1:50 all along. It could be bad PR for them to say "Nah, we wanted this one to be the 1:50."

Probably. I'm just throwing guesses. I have no idea what happened. I just snapped up an X-O Char Design cover off ebay for $3.39 just in case. Not taking any chances.
