It's been a long internal struggle, but after quite a bit of soul searching I've decided that my priorities have shifted in life and it's time for me to part with my Valiant collection.

Would like to sell the collection as a whole and not go through the hassle of breaking it up (and besides, it is too complete a collection to break up anyway right!).

You should consider breaking it up. Judging by the response x-omatic got when he liquidated his collection, you'd have it sold in no time. I missed a lot of comics I needed when that feeding frenzy happened. I personally need about 150-200 of your books to complete my VH1, and I'm sure others are just as in need for the rarer stuff. Your VEI variants alone would make a lot of people happy.

I have to agree with this very logical suggestion.

Trying to sell that entire collection as one big lot is something a dealer would go after, and they are usually going to want to pay 50% or less so they have room for profit and accounted for any discounts they have to offer to sell books. So count on they will try and go much lower than 50%.

Break it up into sets and this will be a much easier sell.

I can remember someone selling a set a few months ago - and including many items for 'free' when you purchased something. If your goal is to get it into someone's hands - that I would suggest.

Most of us on the board already have most of the easier books, but wouldn't sneeze at taking another set - at a reasonable price.

If I remember correctly, the set on the fire sale - somewhere around the new year - sold for $4000. But it was a complete SET - including the Bloodshot 'platinum.'
