My (New) Valiant Story...
Hello everyone,
I was a member some time ago but have been inactive for several years. Since then I have relocated to Arizona, changed careers and have gone through significant health issues with my wife. Due to all of her health issues and new career I pretty much stopped all of my collecting and was unaware of what was going in the comics world. About a year ago I even sold off my Amazing Spider-Man collection going back to issue #10 in order to make ends meet.
Fast forward to April of this year and my wife is doing much better and we relocated to the Southwest. Being new to our town, I scoped out the different stores in the area and found a nice local comic shop. This was about 2 weeks before FCBD. I discovered that of all the free comics offered that day one was going to be from Valiant! This was a welcome surprise and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new X-O Manowar which was my favorite of the old Valiant titles. X-O was also the book that got me into Valiant the first time around!
I love the new books, especially X-O (of course) but am a little put off by the endless variant books. The completist in me, and I know I'm not alone with that particular trait, just HAS to chase them all and I've been doing a good job of it so far. I don't know if I will be able to find a Shadowman:Black or the new X-O #5 interlocking variants but I will certainly do my best.
Thanks to Valiant I am firmly back into the collecting scene and I look forward to getting to (re)know all of you.
My best,
Rob

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.
In addition, I'm right.

Welcome Rob! Glad to hear things have made a turn for the better in your life.
There are a lot of variants to hunt for, but luckily quality has been the primary focus for Valiant not making variants.
