I've gone full digital with Comixology, but ...
It looks like it is down!
I thought I was saving myself from release day drives to my LCS which isn't all that L. I've been seeing X-O #3 on Comixology since mid-morning when they e-mailed me about it but I would add it to my cart and then I would go to purchase and they would tell me my cart was empty. BOOOOOOO!

Ah, the drawbacks of modern technology. I continue with floppies because when the zombie apocalypse arrives, I'll still be able to read my comic books and all you high-falutin' techno-geeks will not.

Woohoo! Digital!
In general, I've had good luck with Comixology, and only had one time when I experienced a hiccup, and had to email them to get it sorted out.
Also, if you are buying through the website, Comixology has digital storefronts for various brick n mortar stores. It is the same price to you, the comics go in your comixology account the same, but the store gets a cut. It's a nice way to spread the love (love = money, in this case).
Here's the storefront for my LCS, your local shop may also have one:

Oh interesting, I will have to check that out. Although my LCS has not created a happy customer out of me the way they have messed up my meager pull list most months. I guess I am just an old cranky guy I can complain about everything!
Shortly after I posted this thread ... I was able to get in and buy XO #3 ... now to get down to reading!

How does Comixology work? Do you get to actually download the books and then you need a Comixology viewer to read them? Or do you have a virtual book shelf on the Comixology website?

That's strange. I purchased it this morning on Comixology without any problems. Even read the book while on my porcelain throne!

It's a virtual bookshelf, like iBooks.Ross2 wrote:How does Comixology work? Do you get to actually download the books and then you need a Comixology viewer to read them? Or do you have a virtual book shelf on the Comixology website?

Yep, you can use the Comixology client, a web browser based client and so on ... similar to the Kindle. Basically buy once read anywhere.BugsySig wrote:It's a virtual bookshelf, like iBooks.Ross2 wrote:How does Comixology work? How about showing us some of that "exclusive digital content, including original sketches"??!
Is it really something we haven't seen yet?

They are inked and uninked pencils of the art from the issue. Nothing that has been posted anywhere I have seen, but it's not like we havent seen the pages. It would be cooler if the "exclusive" was pencils from the upcoming issue...that would be dope.Crow331 wrote:How about showing us some of that "exclusive digital content, including original sketches"??!Is it really something we haven't seen yet?

Re: I've gone full digital with Comixology, but ...
Ive bought 90% of my Valiant books from Comixology. I hope that VEI gets a good chunk of my change for this. I want to support VEI as much as I can.
Although its a different experience than floppies, Ive come to enjoy online comics in this format. Now if they would only add background music and sound effects
