Re: Predict the next Valiant title
I'm pretty impressed it hasn't leaked out by now. There's gotta be a fair number of people in Valiant's creative and management chains that know, and you can assume that for each of them at least 5 other people know... and word gets around. But not in this case.
Rai makes the most sense, since it will likely have ties to the past or future and thus expand the universe the most.

Before the "Summer of Valiant" announcement, it didn't leak what the first four titles would be. Even after that announcement, the creative teams on Bloodshot and A&A weren't leaked. The Ninjak arc wasn't leaked either. The gold book announcement wasn't leaked either.
As for the next title, my vote is HAEDUS.

Re: Predict the next Valiant title
Here's my thing...VEI has been very good at planning ahead, so it doesn't make any sense to me that they would have those two teasers in the FCBD book only to scrap it for something else. So I will continue to maintain that the title will star Eternal Warrior even if it is not titled as such. Then we will see Rai in the Spring.
I suppose they could surprise us with Shadowman, as that is the least discussed and most often avoided by VEI, and then the EW Winter 2012 teaser can be passed off as Gilad's first appearance named as the Eternal Warrior or in the present day (since we already know he is in A&A #1 as Gilad, pre-immortality, this Summer).
Ninjak would make sense from a timing standpoint, givn his appearance in XO. But, one of the "nanannybooboo" crew threw me the bone that it is not "Ninjak". Though that does still leave a possible team book (Secret Weapons?) starring Ninjak, Gilad and others.

What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

Eternal Warrior in the Winter
then Rai in the Spring
then Shadowman right before SDCC 2013
I really wish this year's SDCC panel was on Thursday. That was the only day that I was lucky enough to get tickets to. Now I have no X-O #1 Gold?!?!? Whaaa!!!!!

Eternal Warrior in FCBD was Winter 2012.
Rai was in FCBD as Spring 2013.
"Winter 2012" goes through March 19, 2013.
"Spring 2013" goes through June 20, 2013.
There's a lot of space between Summer of Valiant and March 2013.

Yes, but that is not how consumers read it. If that is how Valiant is dealing with that, then it will be the first poor marketing decision they have made (IMHO).greg wrote:Eternal Warrior in FCBD was Winter 2012.

I'll be happy with either Shadowman or Rai and it being one of the two seems very likely.

Re: Predict the next Valiant title
Well, they mentioned that Eternal Warrior and Rai were upcoming in 2012 and 2013, after that I'd say maybe this Shadowman I keep hearing so much about or some kind of a team book of sorts (hopefully). Both would seem to fit.

If they want to surprise people with an extra title, while still meeting the timelines they listed, it's not a poor marketing decision... it's accurate plus a bonus.BugsySig wrote:Yes, but that is not how consumers read it. I'm sure if they said "Winter 2012" that we'll see it before the end of the year, if not than that would be a HUGE mistake on their part and a bad marketing move. But yeah, Winter 2012 should mean before 2013 as in somewhere between November and the 1st of January. "Spring 2013" to me means somewhere between April 2013-June 2013.

Re: Predict the next Valiant title
There are 10... that's 10 days of winter before January 1, 2013. Winter means winter... if we want to get mad because they can read a definition and we can't... that's not their fault.manga4life wrote:greg wrote:If they want to surprise people with an extra title, while still meeting the timelines they listed, it's not a poor marketing decision... it's accurate plus a bonus.BugsySig wrote:Yes, but that is not how consumers read it. Re: Predict the next Valiant title
First off my mind, THANK GOD, You guys brought back the best comic company of all time. I personally quit comics back in the mid '90's cause everything was going to hell but I returned and about a year ago and I'm so glad Valiant has returned.
1. Ninjak
2. Armorines
3. Mirage
4. Eternal Warrior
5. Secret Weapons
