Completionist, because 'completist' is STUPID! (FU Webster!)
Weird comment, I know, but I've seen "completist" on this website and other comic collecting websites.
"Completist" means someone who wants to complete their collection (all variants, etc.).
Unfortunately, "completist" isn't a (worthy) word... it's made up... and it's not chosen very well.
If we're going to make up a word, let's try to have it make sense in the language.
If someone is obsessed with perfection, they are a perfectionist, not a perfectist.
If someone is able to do contortion, they are a contortionist, not a contortist.
If someone is obsessed or able to reach completion on a comic collection, they are a completionist, not a completist.
Completionist

But the extra syllable just throws the entire word off.

The funny thing is, when I made the post that I think triggered this, I stumbled over that word with the same concern you voiced. So I looked it up before I even finished typing the word. It's a real word.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I'm getting REALLY close to making 'completist' autocorrect to 'completionist' on this board.

So you are gonig to pull an Acclaim on a Valiant board? Remember what happened last time someone pulled an Acclaim on a Valiant.greg wrote:I'm getting REALLY close to making 'completist' autocorrect to 'completionist' on this board.

As we have learned from South Park, the evil version of a person always has goatee/vandyke facial hair.Elveen wrote:That sounds a bit like the actions of a certain Cabbage Patch loving board member.greg wrote:I'm getting REALLY close to making 'completist' autocorrect to 'completionist' on this board.
I still don't really know what it means that evil greg and I both have the same facial hair.

What the *SQUEE* is everyone talking about?

What is evil? Some say it is the exact opposite of good. So what is good? Some say pickles are good. If that's true, I'll take evil, because evil is the exact opposite of pickles. Yuck.

Greg, your power to enforce the use of made up words on this board are hereby recognized. But completionist is still a made up word. And completist is still a real word.
