Completionist, because 'completist' is STUPID! (FU Webster!)

Post by greg »

Weird comment, I know, but I've seen "completist" on this website and other comic collecting websites.

"Completist" means someone who wants to complete their collection (all variants, etc.).

Unfortunately, "completist" isn't a (worthy) word... it's made up... and it's not chosen very well.

If we're going to make up a word, let's try to have it make sense in the language.

If someone is obsessed with perfection, they are a perfectionist, not a perfectist.
If someone is able to do contortion, they are a contortionist, not a contortist.

If someone is obsessed or able to reach completion on a comic collection, they are a completionist, not a completist.

Completionist :thumb:

But the extra syllable just throws the entire word off.

As we have learned from South Park, the evil version of a person always has goatee/vandyke facial hair.
I still don't really know what it means that evil greg and I both have the same facial hair. :atomic:

What the *SQUEE* is everyone talking about? :?

What is evil? Some say it is the exact opposite of good. So what is good? Some say pickles are good. If that's true, I'll take evil, because evil is the exact opposite of pickles. Yuck.
