Simons: Issue #1 of "X-O Manowar" is going to be on sale May 2. Our Free Comic Book Day is going to be available on May 5. It'll have a lettered and colored "X-O Manowar" preview, we're going to have a lot of character designs dealing with not just "X-O," but with other characters in the universe. We're going to have a lot of teasers from some of the other titles, some interviews with creators. It's going to be a pretty jam-packed book that's going to be an overview of the Valiant Universe.

I am even more excited for FCBD now!
Even better that XO 1 will be out a few days before.

Ironic - Dark Horse gets Magnus - Solar - & Turok - Valiant gets its artist from one of their better selling comics.

I like the fact that even though there are no ties to the past Valiant there will be plenty of nods to the old school.

I'm also really shocked that this is coming out before FCBD. That's great, though, because it means that I can get my Valiant fix a few days early. I'm also going to throw out there the prediction that X-O launching that soon could me at least one more launch in May.

BTW - Where was the mention of two covers for X-O? I thought I read the whole article, but I didn't see that.

I did flats for Dave Stewart on Nord's Conan run. Absolutely fell in love with his artwork on that title, and I'm not even a very big Conan fan. So much detail, and his figures actually look like they occupy some space. I cannot wait for this.

I think this looks fantastic! I'm getting excited for sure. Can someone post the pencils from that article so we can get it all in one thread? I would do it but I'm at work. I wasn't crazy about the name "the vine" but they do look kind of cool in that painted cover. I think the pencils look even better. Great idea to put a former Conan artist on this book. Since I have essentially been out of comics for a decade I'm not familiar with these guys but it looks great. I do know the cover artist a bit though.

Ribic's cover art reminds me of Ernie Colon's splash pages in Magnus 13-14.
