The time has come for me to part with some items

Post by tssgery »

I have been a long time Valiant supporter and [at one time] an active member of this board. I've been quite for a while but still occasionally drop by to see what is going on. While it's great to see Valiant making a comeback and I am sure to buy the comics, it's time to let go of some long held items. I've simply got too much stuff and need to think the herd a little.

I am not yet listing these, but an still debating on whether to use ebay or list them here. They should get listed within the next day or two and Ill be sure to put a link here if I decide to go with ebay.

What I'll be listing first are some statues, followed by some board projects (but NOT the CF Fundraisers as they mean a lot to me).

Statues are:
X-O Manowar (1 of 5 painted, signed by Quesada, Palmiotti, Nagle, and Gonzalez)
Sean Chen Red Solar
Sting Penguin
Black Solar Penguin
Batman Penguin
Superman Penguin
Captain America Penguin
Shadowman Statue (pics to come)

Pics...

tssgery, I'm going to move this to the Buy Sell Trade section until you make your mind up about ebay or the board. If you decide on ebay, I'll put in Auction Central.

Nice items, BTW. I'm sure most of these will for some decent $$$ (especially the X-O statue).

Every once in a while somebody posts something on this message board that chokes me up.

This is one of them... it is a simple statement from an old friend that means a lot.

Wow, how much do you think this will go for ?

I am not asking this with the intention of selling mine... thats not going to happen (nor does it have all those autographs, it's painted-by a different painter-but with Layton's auto on it).

I have no idea how much this will go for, which is the major reason I decided to list it on ebay instead of selling it here. These come up for sale so rarely and it's been a long time since there was any validation of the value. I seem to remember one being sold privately on the boards a year/two ago but that's the last one I heard of.

I think only one or two of these were autographed by all those people, the one I bought and I think Dino may have one as well. We both bought them off ebay from the same seller within a day or two. There is no COA for the signatures but I did email both Quesada and Palmiotti who said that it was their signature... pretty cool actually.

Very nice. I think I offered Vaultkeeper $1400 or $1500 for his privately and I think he sold it to someone else privately for the same $1500. I liked his paint job better than this one. I would probably have this one re-painted, but that's just me. I really want this, but alas I have nowhere near the funds I had when I made that last offer and then add in the new paint job ... damn! Good luck with the sale. I'm sure it will still fetch a pretty penny :thumb:

I knew a while back VK was trying to sell his but I didn't know it went for anything like that, I hope he can get that kind of cash for it, unfortunately that's way over my limit also.
I am selling "nothing" on ebay-yet.

I scraped together my pennies and ponied up at $500, but still on the short end of the stick with the auction ending later today. Thank you for offering this great item for sale - I just wish I could have won it :(

This seems to be trucking along at a good clip with still 4 hours to go and at $500 !!!

I predict it will flury/flex within the last minutes/seconds as typical.

How many 'watchers', tssgery ?

The last time I looked, this morning, there were 16 watchers. I've had a few people email me about it so am hoping there's a flurry at the end. My son's car was totalled and we need to replace it... any additional money I can get right now will be going into the pool for his vehicle.

I was going to bid on this and my parents came to town and totally distracted me. I totally spaced and missed out on a rare opportunity. I was considering bidding about twice what the closing price was.

Must be a bad time to sell, because it should have brought in much more than that.

Finally, here are some pictures of the Shadowman Statue. FWIW, the box is in bad shape, looks to have been water damaged by the previous owner. The statue looks fantastic though, no chips or breaks at all. I'll be selling Shadowman and the Penguins here on the boards once I figure out a reasonable price.
