Which titles do you think the New Valiant leads with?

Speculate: Which titles do you think the new Valiant Comics will publish first, and when will they be released?
I'm pretty sure X-O will be one of the first two titles they release. My other title I'm picking as one of their first two launches is Harbinger. My best guess is they will be released this summer.

Also, how many titles do you think they're looking at releasing in 2012? I'm thinking 4.

Sooner the better because I only read collected hardcovers, so I'm guessing I'm looking at least a year (if at all) after the first floppy is released is the soonest I will get new VALIANT in my life. As of right now I'm at 2013 at best, looks like.

I dig hardbacks too. You must have quite a collection of them.

I enjoy hardbacks but I'll go with softies if I must.

X-O
Harbinger with Harada more of the focus
Rai

They could start it all off with a sweet Eternal Warrior story like a mini or something and it wouldn't have to be called EW.

That would be ideal. I see EW as one of the few logical lynchpins for a new VU.

Would the story be in his own title, or would the Eternal Warrior be guest starring in one of the aforementioned titles?

X-O and..... :hm:

I would have thought Bloodshot but now I'll say Harbinger.

IMO, I'd say there will be new books before or by May.

I think they will get at least 4 titles out in 2012. X-O, Harby, Bloodshot, and then either Rai or ????????? I would not be surprised to see a Ninjak book, or a EW book.

I've heard them say good things about EW and Ninjak, so those do seem to be sort of Dark Horse picks I think as well. I think you may be right, it does seem like either Bloodshot or Harbinger along with X-O. No love at all for Shadowman, though?

they said that they talk about shadowman a lot. I'd be confident that there will be a shadowman book, especially considering that Darque is such a GREAT character.

Let's say they have books out in May; how many titles do we think will be released in 2012?

I think if they get books out by the summenr, they end up with four titles in 2012. More than that seems a bit too aggressive. More would be good, though. lol

At the least they need to open with 2 titles in their first month and then introduce a new title every month until they reach their allotted goal for distribution.

Harbinger and Rai are, imo, the best two feet forward.

I hope Bloodshot is delayed a bit. I don't the character is the best first impression.

I'm sticking with X-O Manowar & Harbinger, considering they were the first two Hardcovers VEI started with some years ago including a new story element to each. I tought Fabian got it right when they relaunched before by having things kick off with X-O. He is still the most marketable character they own.

From talking to the dudes, Bloodshot will be one of the lynchpins of the new uni.

Well, I'm going to stick with my original prediction and say X-O and Rai and I'll even take a leap and say a February or March launch. After that, Harbinger and Bloodshot are the most likely to follow. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that VEI will have around 8 titles by the end of 2012 including Eternal Warrior, and Shadowman, though due to the HC choices, an Archer and Armstrong isn't out of the question.

I'm thinking that Bloodshot will likely be the kickoff title based on the fact that it's the only promotional art I've seen so far. I'm also thinking that probably Harbinger, X-O, and Eternal Warrior will be some of the first books published, although I'd like to see Archer & Armstrong kick off at the same time as EW.

I would probably say that EW and A&A are the two titles I'm looking forward to the most.

I think they will release X-O, Ninjak and Harbinger. Mainly due to what we've heard and seen.

They are not the choices I'd make due to the generic look that they have from the outside comic world.... a mecha, a ninja and a teen team book.

*EDIT* Doh and Bloodshot. Try not too make him too Punisher-y and he'll be good.

I would like to see them lead with:

Shadowman - due to the versatility of the character/concept. There can be one or multiple. It can be lighthearted or dark. Or lead from one style to another like Animal Man, Swamp Thing or Sandman. I was never a huge fan of any of the Valiant versions but feel it has some of the best verstality as a concept.

Archer & Armstrong - 2 very original characters, can also juggle between the buddy dynamic, action/adventure, elements of history, the geomancers role in the VU. Alot of opportunities.

Quantum & Woody - I like superheroes... I like laughing... and I love goats! Although seriously Q&W was superb and still could be. A mix of the old Q&W/JLI comedy and the more modern style of humour interjected subtly into things like Invincible/Chew could work so well here.

Rai - The setting is amazing, it gives a great chance for artists to play around in a futuristic Japan with an old school samurai. Traditional hero in a modern world. It'd be a good chance to give him a chance in the spotlight with Magnus gone and segway nicely into Bloodshot.

Not sure this would sit well with many but what I'd like to see.

All the spec is fun, but I hope they do something that we aren't expecting and knock it out of the park. Regardless, I'm eager to see what they do.

Reading this reminded me of the Samurai Jack cartoon. Anyone ever watch that? It took a while to grow on me but me and the kids like it!
