My Doctor Knows Bob Hall

Post by David_Cody »

So, I've been seeing Dr. John, my Doctor of Oriental Medicine doctor and undergoing a new acupuncture technique he's doing that is centuries old. Dr. John is a movie buff so we were talking movies this morning and he mentioned that he just can't get into "comic book movies". Then he said, "I know a relatively famous comic book artist/writer. His name is Bob Hall."

I go, "Whaaaaaattttt? How do you know Bob Hall."

Dr. John said, "Oh yea, I know Bob. Bob lives in Lincoln, NE. I met Bob when I was working at Lincoln's oldest comic book store when I was 18. In fact, virtually every time I go home to Lincoln to visit my folks I see Bob. Every morning Bob goes to my favorite coffee house in downtown Lincoln. Bob and I go way back. If you are ever in Lincoln while I'm there, I'll introduce you to him."

Huh? Small world.

Bob is the best. Never met someone that had a bad thing to say about him.

That's flat-out cool. Only thing my doctor to knows is how to make me sit in a waiting room for hours.

isn't that the truth...was reading somewhere about that happening to some big time consultant, and they sent a bill to the doctor for the time spent in the waiting room...

I've met many of the creators at Valiant, but have never met Bob. I've heard the stories here on the boards that he's the best.

might be an urban legend, but the story goes that the doctor did pay the bill...and the consultant never has to wait in the doctors office any more... :P

Bob is awesome. Not saying I know him personally, but I have met him a couple times at SDCC. The guy really is nice. He's always happy to talk to you and take the time to answer questions. No rush, and it's funny you bring up Coffee because he always seems to have a cup. Cold or not. I have met other people at the Con as well that were nowhere near as nice as he was. Lou Ferrigno, anyone? I swear, all that guy does is sit around the Mile High Comics booth and his answer for everything is, "It's in my book. Buy my Book." Well, that is unless you are a woman and hotness, then he has all the time in the world for you.
