Samson appears to me to be a lot like Solar...starting off really slow.
FWIW:
Jim's got more recent experience with Magnus (I believe this is his personal favorite) and Solar. I think he had some conceptual stuff that never saw the light of day at VALIANT with Turok. But I do not think he has the experience with Samson, which is why I believe it is coming along more slowly.
He has the "Valiant" barbarian with Turok. So, what to do with Samson?

This looks great. I'm glad we're starting to see a steady stream of releases now. With the exception of Turok 2 and Magnus, the books haven't been that far behind. It seems like those were slow artist problems too... from Shooter's blog:

Some of it is my fault, I guess. But, generally, I've stayed ahead of the artists -- that is, they usually weren't waiting for script. It hasn't been hard to stay ahead of them. One artist took four months to draw an issue of an every-six-weeks book. At this moment, however, I have THREE artists waiting for script, so excuse me, I have to get back to work. : )
