Anyone read "Blankets" graphic novel?
I just read this in one sitting, couldn't put it down. If you've ever had a crush or a perfect summer romance end by circumstance this will speak to you. Also if you grew up in a very christian fundimentalist area there is a lot of great insite on some of the hypocracy that goes on.
The art is amazing, Craig Thomson is great at drawing winter scenery and also some of his drawings of children really capture childhood perfectly. There's one specific scene where kids are playing "pirates" and their bed is the boat... perfect.
Anyway, big recommendation.

Read it. Then bought it. Then lent it to my friend Scott. He then bought it.
It truly was one of the best reads of the year and it is just a beautiful story of life and first love, isn't it? I can highly recommend it but I say buy it. It is one of those stories that you just want to take off the book shelf every six months or so and read it again. And admire. And love. I just read it two months ago and after writing this very short paragraph it makes me want to read it again. Maybe after the Bone: One Volume Edition.
Well and then after ESSENTIAL IRON FIST! 1970's kung-fu goodness!
