I have all the Ultraverse toys except those five. When I see one I usually bid from $25-40 each, but I never come close to winning. I knew this set was gonna go for big bucks since it was all five in pretty good shape.Brother J wrote:Man, can't believe someone would pay so much no matter how rare they are. Didn't think there was that much interest in these.
Depluto, as a collector of these (I think, at least), around how much would you have been willing to pay for these?
There were supposed to be 504 each of these but the numbers are rumored to be much smaller, perhaps only a couple dozen or less. That brings in collectors from outside our circle and they pay big bucks.
It's kind of like those signed/stamped Ultraverse 2 cards nosam was selling a few years back. He dumped set after set for a few weeks, usually for a few bucks each. But hell, that might have been almost all of them and now they sell for huge bucks and you hardly ever see them.
Really ? I picked up at least one set of those and then later found a totally obscure card from another set, stamped/signed like the previous set. It must have been from a test set or something.depluto wrote:It's kind of like those signed/stamped Ultraverse 2 cards nosam was selling a few years back. Not selling but what do those cards go for ? (the signed/stamped Uverse2 cards)

What are even rarer than those were the Rookie cards where one had to photocopy the coupon on the backs of the comics and mail them in. Depending on how many coupons you collected you could get one of three different version of 4 new character cards.Knightt wrote:Really ? 4 Regular Cards
4 Gold Foil Stamped Cards
4 card Uncut Sheet (Either Gold Foil or Regular) - I used to have all versions of these - they came out almost a year after the deadline passed to submit your coupons. Good thing I hadn't moved yet as I was in the military at the time. However they are since long gone.

You're right, those are really hard to find. I got mine in a box with a bunch of crap in it ... pretty fortunate, but that's the way it goes when you're hunting down DU stuff, you just luck into some of the coolest stuff.BruceReville wrote:What are even rarer than those were the Rookie cards where one had to photocopy the coupon on the backs of the comics and mail them in. It's a hope that someday I get those as well as the Next Men send away cards.
