M.I.A since 2004-What did I miss?
Happy 2011 everyone. Just a quick hello to everyone here on the board. I haven't been active since 2004 but decided to surface and see how things are in the Valiant world circa 2011.
Anyone seen the Black Diamond Collection lying around anywhere?
I wouldn't mind getting it back into my possession.
I'll be around checking to see what's happened over the past few years. If we corresponded in the past don't hesitate to drop me a line and say Hello.
Billy

Black Diamond I
I'll check with Greg but I think the official name in the inventory was the Black Diamond I collection. I pulled the top off the Black Diamond II collection today and guess what was inside?

Tumbleweeds...
and all my Acclaims including Shadowman 1-6, three Acclaim Readers, some Q&W trades and two copies of the Bloodshot (V2) #11 error. I also found a handful of Valiant premiums including Turok and Magnus VVSSs. Harbinger 0 pink, two Unity 0 reds, and one of my last copies of the Bloodshot 0 golds. I used to have 20+ but most of them went to people on this site.
Now I've got to dig out my box that has the actual Valiants.
Anybody else seen copies of the Bloodshot 11 that is the Bloodshot cover on the exterior and Troubleshooters 14 on the inside? I think I posed this question years ago but can't remember what the answer was.
Thanks to everybody that's posted. It's been years since I've seen these books.

There's a window back to a time when we all got along pretty much, pre VEI, pre booting, and such.iggy101us wrote:http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2275IanAlexavier wrote:Black Diamond CollectionOk, I will bite.. what is that?

Found the Valiant box
Well, I managed to dig out my box of Valiants. This box contained the first issues I bought back in 1993-1994. Needless to say there are large holes in the runs. I managed to hang on to a few premiums but most of these are regular issues. It brings back memories...
Anybody know what a full collection would bring on ebay these days?
Congratulations again to Greg for keeping the site running for all these years.

20 years
You know, I was trying to comment on the banner and the site. I had written 10 years and said "That's not right." So, I looked at the banner and did the math and didn't think beyond that. I know he's been up since at least 2004. But, no, not 20 years. This is what I get trying to get my feet wet after all this time...
I'm heading to remedial math class, See you later...

VCS
Can anybody give me a crash course or tell me where to find a thread that explains how the Valiant Collector's Society relates to this site?

Re: EW VVSS
Yeah, a few of the most sought after books like that one still hold their value. The Diamond Unity trades are another good example.Billy Walker wrote:Well, it looks like some books are holding their value in 2011...$199 for the EW VVSS...

EW VVSS 27
I remember when I was trying to finish my original set the EW VVSS was one of the last ones to find. I'm pretty sure I had my Bloodshot 0 Platinum before I found the EW VVSS. Eternal Warrior was always my favorite title. The first two Valiants I bought were Rai 0 and a EW #1 Gold-gold logo/embossed. It was signed by Bob Layton. I still own both copies. EW #4 was the next issue I bought and I was hooked on that character. Harbinger, Magnus, Solar, and X-O came later...

Re: EW VVSS 27
EW 27 is one of the last ones I need of the original Valiant. I just can't see myself paying the money it's going for though. Still hoping I run across one in shop somewhere.Billy Walker wrote:I remember when I was trying to finish my original set the EW VVSS was one of the last ones to find.
