Jimi Hendrix lives?

Post by xodacia81 »

So, in Archer & Armstrong 11, Solar sends Hendrix back in time, to 1972...but, Hendrix died in 1970. Does this mean that in Valiant, he's alive? So much for being "the world outside our window".

I'm writing a Valiant Universe Timeline and was confounded by this very point (among several others.) I put that he was a Jimi Hendrix impersonator.

The thing that's driving me crazy right now is Crescendo's origin as explained in XO #47. How could she be a queen after the rule of Cleopatra but before the Romans invaded Egypt?

Anyway, after my first draft is done (a month or two from now) I'll start a thread to pick peoples brains around here on some of the inconsistencies.

It is quite simple. It is the VALIANT Universe not our universe. It is a world that is similar to ours but with differences that make it fantastic and extraordinary. In the VALIANT U the Romans got to Egypt after the reign of Cleopatra and Jimi Hendrix lived beyond 1970.

It should be quite evident that it is a different world from the fact that we have only heard of the exploits of Solar, Shadowman, et al in comic books and not on the news.

I agree 100% with what you're saying. But say you're writing a detailed timeline of the Valiant Universe like I've decided to do and you're given an historical event but the writer doesn't tell you what year it took place in. You want to put it in your timeline because its important but the only thing you've got to go on is our own history, which is remarkably similar to the Valiant Universe.

I understand that its a different universe. I'm confounded more by the lack of a date than the historical context.
