Someone estimated about 23,000 so that was pretty close.

Good result I reckon.

Seems like a relatively small print run. Is that average for DH these days?

Isn't a print run of 23K copies nowadays on the higher end?

I wouldn't say higher end, but it's not lower end, either. 25K is not bad nowadays...

If Solar was Dark Horses number 1 book then no, their average must be lower.

I think you might be right from looking at the other DH title numbers on that list. They even had a couple of books around the 7,000 mark.

As mentioned in another thread, Buffy is usually DH's #1 seller but there were no Buffy issues in June and July. In May, Buffy was #36 selling 45,446 copies.

Was there ever a documented source of information about the ratio of the two Dr. Solar #1 covers?

I've heard 5:1, you're saying 10:1, and it seems like they are 1:1 everywhere I look.

I don't remember hearing anything official from Dark Horse about the ratio. I think at least 1 member who's a retailer (I forgot who) mentioned that it's 1:5. It's listed at mycomicshop as 1:5 for what it's worth.

Secret Avengers #1 seems low to me.

286 - Secret Avengers #1 sold 3,931 copies.

That really surprises me expecially since they are did a second printing.

Also Serenity Float Out (1-shot) was #50 selling 35,266 copies in June. Serenity is not a regular monthly title so it's hard to interpret that number. Dark Horse has Serenity mini's and 1-shots once in a while. At least Buffy is somewhat regular.

Surprised to see a Serenity book selling that many copies.

I ordered a quantity of the book from a good friend of mine who's a store owner, and I received a 5:1 ratio.

Interesting!

Evidence:

Superman-prime's store: Ordered 50, got 5 variants. (10:1)

StarBrand: Ordered quantity, got 5:1.

TFAW.com: Any orders, either cover, same price (1:1) ... or is that (2:1)?

Question... when we say 10:1, we mean 9 of one cover, 1 of the other, right?

(5:1 = 4 of one cover, 1 of the other, right?)

What is it when the two covers are equal? (2:1) or (1:1)?
